I'm looking for a bit of advice on turning my 96 fireblade into a streetfighter. I have pretty much bought all the parts I need (I think), handlebar risers, extended brake lines, twin dominator headlights. Just need to put it all together. How difficult can it be.
However, I have also sourced all the parts from the tail of a 2004 CBR600. I want to adapt the subframe to fit. Has anyone done this?

Hi Dave, Welcome.
bar lights and lines are easy.
Dont know about the tail, but if you want it bad enough anything will fit anything else

Were not real good with words round here so bust out some pics and show us what you got.

Anyone know an easy way to get the wiring loom back under the tank without dismantling half the bike. The only other way I can see is if I cut all the sockets off the loom. Wanted to avoid that if possible. I will attach some pictures ASAP (they are all too big!)

Welcome mate and you might want to repost that question here:

Also if you put pictures up it will make it easier for people to help you.

hey mate. depending on your skill and access to welding gear, you could build your own subframe and put a more modern tail on there.
Mine is a 96 Blade with a 04 600rr tail piece, i built an adjustable subframe which can be raised or lowered with turnbuckle screws for pillion duties or a more aggressive posture.
good luck buddy.

Have fun and enjoy the site , with a hammer welder and grinder almost anything can be done if you have the time and will!
