I'm new to the fighter scene, so some of the termonology is new to me. What are USD's?
This weekend I might be doing an undertail surgery fitting different indicators. I'm also planning on fitting MX bars, solo seat cowl (or grafting a different rear on) and other stuff that i haven't decided yet.

upside down forks

Ahhh newbie i love training new jedi.. lol
USD = Up Side Down Forks as opposed to your RWU - Right Way Up..
also SSSA would look great..
SSSA = Single Sided Swing Arm..
But although USD's look the goods, if you leave it rather simple SV's are one of them bikes that look great with little touches, i think..

Thanks for help. What sort of money, how hard and what's involved in changing my swingarm to a Single Sided?
Gitzy
10-03-2010, 08:43 PM
Hmmm not sure on the dollars involved exactly, so many price variations from ebay to personal ads etc..
i think Ben's (Extreme Creations) rough quote when I enquired about bandit, if I provided all parts (swinger, wheel, caliper, rotor, etc)
was about $1200 and i prob would have spent $800 or more on them parts.. I would have been happy with the end product for around 2k.. some people wouldnt, but i simply dont have skills to do that and well Ben does.. so obviously if you did it yourself in the shed with some mates and some beers it could be done much cheaper.. ebay is your friend no matter what anyone says, and on here, there were some SSSA's for sale on here a couple of months back (http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17382&SearchTerms=single) which would have been perfect. so keep your eye out..
As for dimensions here are some..
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16268
and this has definately been done (SSSA Conversion i mean).. have you joined any of the SV forums? guys on there would be happy to help you out 4 sure..

I got my 350mm Delkevic exhaust on Friday and thanks to a mate and his mastery of the fine and delicate art of Angel Grinding we cut the factory exhaust off and installed the new bad boy.

I reckon it actually sounds better with the baffle in, especially on the over run.
I've also just finished wrapping the radiator in wog mesh.

Yep, the low beam is nice and wide and high throws out far. Although as the low goes off when the high is on, all I do is keep my finger on the pass button and then I have low and high

Is the high beam up to it? What sort of bulbs? I still want to be able to see at night if I change lights lol.

They use 55w H3. Same as the Ford EF-EL XR8's projector lense. But as the high beam is a needle point, you should wire up the low so it stays on when the high beam is on (to get a nice spread of light to the side) or just keep your finger on the pass button like I do.

Just finished painting the brackets on the radiator. I thought they looked a bit off with the wog mesh, so yellow they go.

That sir, I can not help you with.
But does anyone know if the VHT Heat Proof paint would any good to piant the headers. I was thinking of white priming then flat yellow.

not sure, I've used their ceramic paint on headers, works well, needs to bake on. only in black though I think

Well it was rather fortunate that I was too "sick" to go to work yesterday. Mr mail man courier payed me a visit and dropped off the undertray guard for the SV from PowerBronze. So what was I supposed to do when at home and have a nice new shiny carbon look guard and all day to fit ? Five hours later I had all fitted up. Just waiting on the hugger and solo seat cowl to arrive and some Rizoma gold grips to go with the black Renthal bars.

A quick update on the progress of my SV650.
I ditched the chinese plastic headlights for a pair of twins. I got them of ebay from a guy QLD for $155.00. Some time this week I should be fitting up the Renthal Bars and Rizoma grips

Here's quick photo I took just after I got my bike back tonight. The renthal bars have certainly made a difference (in a good way). I'll take some day pics this weekend and upload.

I agree totally. The light output from the twins is fantastic.
My friend who helped to gring off the original muffler, truly is a master with the grinder. He helped me to cut hole in my AU Fairmont bonnet to so I could install a shaker. 3 hours to measure and mask, 10 minutes to cut. This what the car looked like when I owned it

Yeah long exposure, 20 seconds and a LED torch to light things up. The headlights are fantastic on low and high. Put them to use on Friday night and I was very impressed.

Not quite the SV, but a new streetfighter project in the works. I have to wait about 5 weeks for the colour.

Yeah, it's not bad with the Renthal bars. However since my arms are straightened out, they now tend to block the mirrors. Not matter,I'd rather see where I'm going rather than where I've been.

Yeah, I'm super imptessed with the work and detail. I didn't realise just how much detail went into it. And all that in 2hours. I have probably another 1.5hours of colour to go.

Big improvement with the twin headlights mate, but personally I prefer the bars in this pic. Just my opinion but I think it looks nice and aggressive.
