What insurance companies do you guys use and recommend?
Who are good on cost and who are good in service?
Any recommendations?

I am an agent for swann, sometimes the rates are good and other times they obviously don't want the business.

prices vary from rider to rider depending on age, history and the steed you saddle up on.

Shannons,Swann and Western QBE are the main ones though.

i recently got a quote for comp insurance on the zx7r from shannons and with all the modifications listed and no mention of kms travelled was $470 ish. remembering i am 27 yrs old and have had speeding fines recently, but the bike is garaged. i thought that was reasonable. agreed value of $6000 k too!!

Yea Dave, I might contact Shannons soon. It was always a plan but numbers were low. I could try and get it sorted for all full members but give me a little while. If I could convince them I'd be sending around 80 guys their way I'm sure they would be more than happy!

Ill let you know how i go with Shannons. But from what ive heard about them and bike insurance they are 1st class. My claim is a bit different to straight up bike insurance as it was bike parts, riding gear and tools. Hopefully all will be good.

Shannons are great if you never actually ride your bike.

Ok guys. Here's Shannon's response to the request:

Hi Si,

We don't discount premiums, most of our portfolio are club members and as such, our premiums reflect this.

Best regards

Shannons

So no discounts for members there. I'm not sure any others are worth approaching but if you think they are, let me know.
