Riding to the AFR

So whats the plan till now. I know the guys and gals where starting to plan at the Supers.

Leaving Thursday morning and taking the scenic route... Coming back Sunday?!?!?!

I'm already planning to meet up with a couple of ASFers in Traralgon, from there it's a leisurely 7 hour ride (not including stops).

I thought it would be easy enough to do it all on the Friday if we left early enough.

Leave early friday, head straight for mountains, get lost for an hour or two, arrive jindy 4ish, get pissed etc, repeat mountain run sat, get pissed, cruise home sunday

Ok after much discussion it has been decided that myself Tk Shano and Jules are leaving Melbourne on Thursday morning.
the meeting point will be the Shell servo in Healesville at 9:30Am for a 10:00AM leave.I have found some accommodation for Thursday night at Tallangatta for $30 a head with a continental breakfast included.At this point in time i have 6 beds booked but i can get a couple more if needed.

I'm planning to be home for Sunday dinner, coming home the same way (google maps+GPS route) although I can understand you guys on your fighters not wanting to do a 7 hour stint on them I see no reason to be away from home longer than necessary.

After having a yarn with several AFR attendees recently, it's clear that we need to sort out who's going when & how.
The REAL MEN (those who are riding their STREETFIGHTERS to the event) are sorted thanx to Timbo but there seems to be some confusion as to who is going by car, who's trailering their bike (the epitome of GHEYNESS) etc.
It seems Oldskool, Kato/Trev/?? & Jup are leaving Thursdy sometime & staying at the lovely Davio's overnight before continuing on to Jindy.
I know 80's freak, Deano & Gibbo are driving/towing up, so what are the arrangements as far as how many cars are going & when are they leaving (Thursdy or Fridy, am, pm, etc)
Is anyone who's driving up planning on following the STREETFIGHTERS route & staying overnight at Tallangatta?
Example - if say, Deano/Jojo/Gibbo/whoever are planning to drive/tow up solo, it would make sense to pool resources & put 3 people in a car with 3 bikes on a trailer wouldn't it?

I am suprised how organised you lot are already, it would normally be on the 6th or 7th page of a thread before any progress was made.

As I previously mentioned I plan to leave Benalla Friday morning, 9 o'clockish. Use the Freeway to Albury, head across to Tallangatta, then through the hills to Jindabyne. I will be driving the ute, with the lifesize replica of a streetfighter on the back. There will be several bikes with me, it'll be up to them if they want to use the freeway or go across through Bright and around to Corryong the back way.

I plan on using the same route to return Monday morning.

Whats with all the cars/trailers ?
In the UK we would jump on the bikes on a friday night, ride to the coast, ferry to france and then ride to Holland/Germany/Belgium for a sat night party...and then ride home sunday.
I understand(sort of) the interstaters using cars but the Vic mob ???
Melbourne to Jindabayne is 6 hours/520K's....300 miles...

And Yes, I will be in a car...but if I had a bike on the road it would be ridden.

The Wife and I will be driving up with bike in tow, haven't seen the bike trailer I'll be towing but apparently it's big enough for 3 big bikes. TK, is the Doris still wanting to throw her bike on the trailer and come up with us? We will be leaving at sparrows fart friday morning and probably coming back monday. If anyone else wants the other spot let me know.
