Hi Everybody,

Well this is my first post so go easy............

Are there any guys out there streetfightering a Vmax?
I'm in the process of doing mine and haven't touched base with anybody who knows what one is let alone thinking of fightering one!
I'm keen to touch base and swap ideas/notes.
Regards
Simon

Okay quick update,
the cam sprockets have now been slotted and the cams are dialled in.
I also believe the engine might actually be back in the frame this evening

does anybody know how to make the induction noise on a vmax sound like Darth Vader?

Holy fuckajaweeja
Guess what
the engine is back together and the bloody thing has turned over.
Just got to get the cooling system back to gether and off to the dyno we go.

Things done so far
goodridge brake hoses for front R1 calipers and master cylinder camjs slotted and dialled in heads flowed intake and exhaust solid engine mounts new barnett clutch total engine rebuilt crank welded and balanced stainless engine bolt kit 7/8 to 1" fat crosser bars lots of black paint work done

shit to do when sanity and cash return
YZF 750 front end transplant including 6 pot calipers brace swing arm change swingarm spacers to allow 180 back tyre new headlights frame brace shorten tail piece flat slides rearsets goodrodge for rear brake and clutch YZF master cylinder for clutch

And I may even have some pictures for you soon too.

you are freaking joking right?
these shopping trolleys come with a genuine 150 as standard, and back shocks that are made by streets - stiff when cold and soft and floppy when luke warm

a 180 is about as big as a standard swingarm and rim will hold.
best conversion for the back end is a Diversion 900 rim - same shaft Kardan and a 17". Standard rear is a 16" if I remember rightly - don't know for sure and don't care - it's horrible and must die, but until happy shiny Doshman comes and says hello it's just gonna be a new tyre - hence 180

BTW does anybody have a cheap Diversion 900 rear wheel lying around the garage for incredibly small amounts of cash?:)

Standard rear is a 150/90-15.....;)

I knew it was something shit at the back end, with horrible deep wall custom type tyres.
definitely has to be changed for a better one

Here's another good UK site for V Max addicts. My brother rides a 1985 model and still going well.

RobMac,

Piccies of mine in current state in the "your rides" section
and yes love the engine

Jinx,
Yep have already bought stuff from Exactrep
their online shopping system is a buit pants but the follow up by the crew there and their service is excellent
just about to order some more stuff like the stainless water pipe elbow and engine trim.
