well if im going to start this topic off i had better go back to the begining
you might be best going to get a coffee and roll a cig before ya look at this lot :)

some of you might remember me starting to bulid a 7/14 build well it got scraped

it all started on a site i came across were if not all the framed bikes were specials

lets start with the build
i started with a set of blue prints (with no mesurements on them )[:0]
but soon after talking to a few people who sorted me out with said sizes cutting began
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image087.jpg
doint worry if you carnt work out the pic all will become clear later
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image092.jpg
next few are from differant angles
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image024450x600.jpg

part two

after getting to this stage it was time to offer up the swingarm
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image090.jpg
im not going to fill ya in on tanks rear ends but this is what i ended up with useing
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image026-1.jpg
then i started on the rear shock mock up
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image042.jpg
knowing i could only get this right if i had the front end on ....well should i say it was wrong
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image114.jpg
after a bit of thinking i sorted it out
then i began on subframe mock up
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image130533x400.jpg
hummmmmmm i hear you say
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image129533x400.jpg

part three

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image128533x400.jpg
the next step jumps a bit
had a go at sitting on the bike and i did not feel right ,,,ie legs felt to far apart &realy uncomfy so i changed the tank for a slimmer backed one and hay presto all was ok again
oh and started to do the subframe as well
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image055533x400.jpg
i allso had the idea of adding some side braceing to help and hold the 14 lump in place

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image062533x400.jpg
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image064533x400.jpg
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j259/gixer-mark/Image065533x400.jpg
this is were im up to now ive shortendit down a bit as i was jumping from one tank and rear to another

gixer-mark.750
17-02-2010, 06:30 AM
if you look at the last few pic im soting out a few line probs ive got ,only take a day to sort out as most of the rear is only tacked on as the welding is done by my elsewhere

could do with some ideas for the headlight and front muddy at some point
or if any of you have any ideas let me know
thanks for lookin ................mark

17-02-2010, 08:35 AM
how tall are you? looks really jacked up, love it!

have you used a jig at all? or are you just going to get it straightened later-ron?

gixer-mark.750
17-02-2010, 09:39 AM
its not that jacked up mate ....or am i tall lol
and yes main frame is done on a jig
all the rear subframe was done by mesurements but its going back down the fabrication shop in the week so i can fully weld every thing up on the jig

Gix11
17-02-2010, 01:35 PM
Wow! It does look mighty high in the photos but that could just be the angle? How does it compare to another bike for seat height and ground clearance? The actual styling is well cool. I like it. Have you had chance to stick some air in that rear tyre and try rolling it along to see how it feels?

gixer-mark.750
09-03-2010, 09:05 AM
done a few chages over the past 2 weeks
ive redone all engine mounts 6 in all all ready to be welded on
and also ive redone the side braces (not bolt on anymore )these will be welded on ,these enough room to drop the engine in & out the frame
still waiting for the top supports for the subframe (should be ready later on today )..pick up tomorow
the angle of the side braces has changed quite abit but look loads better from all angles
and the big change is the tank ,was going to find it hard to use a external fuel pump ,and reg

Its just a variable resistor that tricks your ecu/air temp to add more fuel.Never bought one as i bought a turbo and needed a proper tunable ECU, but read a few reviews, most of them said it made no difference.Theres a similar one on ebay for about 18 dollars that claims up to 15 HP increase, read the guys feedback, looks like it worked for some[mainly cars] but not for others.I guess it depends how well tuned your engine is to start with.Google it...i found reviews on that shit forum full of ads... gixxer.com.
An piggyback ECU like Power Commander or similar will give you a much better tune across the entire rev range, although they cost alot more.

Well all Im gonna say about paintwork is `Its Wild!` even by my standards. Full-on in ya face just like the bike. Really flowing and organic with sime seriously small scale detailing.

Up to Mark as to when he sticks up pics tho. Whether on forums, or unveiling at first big show, or in streetfighters feature.

Its a nice one tho.[8D]
