Ive finally started doing a few things to the GSXR. Buying a set of bar risers tomorrow and a Reikon fat bar which I got for a good price from a mate in a bike shop locally.

Spent about 2 or so hours this arvo getting the bike stripped and taking the Top yoke off lol (not bad for a first timer lol).

I stripped the bike right down so I could re-route the wiring to tidy things up.

After finding out that I didnt have a big enough allen key to take the clip-ons off lol.. I will be taking it into a workshop on base to get the yoke driled and at the same time getting the clip-ons taken off
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/jakam04/Image012_crop.jpg

Got a fair few parts that I now have to find new homes for, possibly through ebay lol...
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/jakam04/Image011.jpg

Will take a few pics once risers and bar are on. (no the chair is not for sale lmao)

My exhaust is still the stock 4-2 system.. was thinking of cutting it down at the 4-2 join point just where the headers meet the rear pipe section and then find someone to build a pipe rearward to make it into a 4-1 system. Im not very financial so everything needs to be at a slight budget for the immediate future lol.

Will do a little asking around and get back to you, not sure what a speedo in excellent condition is worth. I was hoping for a little more as theres still a bit to get to my $260 speedo.

Talk to you soon mate.

ill try and track down a link for you :D
i hope you are good with a soldering iron, and dont mind drilling and tapping your disc to mount the damn speedo magnet :D

Spent most of Yesterday wiring up the speedo. Had a minor hiccup with the Tacho as I'd wired it to one of the old wires. When it didnt work, I then wrapped the Tach input around Coil lead 4 and bingo... worked.

Only Have to wire up a temp guage being my bike is water cooled.

Got a set of brackets to mount my Dominator lights from Stu as well as a new set of brake lines for the front.

Last thing Im still waiting for is getting my yokes drilled, the guy thats doing it for me doesnt start nightshifts till next monday and its much easier for them to do outside jobs on nights when bosses are gone home lol..

Almost ready for the maiden voyage..

i m having issues with the tacho as well it displays smoothly till around 7k rpm then the display revs drop off, i have it plugged into the coil itself,
mabee im getting funny readings because of the induced voltage from the cables near by???

Stay tuned for more photos when the following happens:

Tomorrow I get my brackets to mount my dominator lights,

Are those the HEL brake lines you got there? I got there orange ones from Stu... They have faded almost to white in less then 6 months. Let me know how yours age.

I've let Stu know and he's recommended I take them back to his brissy supplier so hopefully its only a one off.

Hey Scotty,

Yeah she feels real good. kinda had more confidence hitting a few dubious bends than I did the standard setup. Now just waiting for Jul/Aug for my tax return so I can do some more work on the bike.. Still want to change arse end to maybe an R1 or GSXR6 arse end. I might also swap my braced swing arm for a more sleeker version without the bracing.. less to polish that way lmao.

Hope the water subsides soon hey...

would a 91 750 swing arm fit? might b a long shot.
has anyone chased you for that head light? i think
SEF was asking ozkat if he still had it.was there
much work in fitting the speedo? looks tidy.

jakam04
03-02-2007, 11:40 AM
Nah was quite easy... just used 2-3mm thick aluminium. I will have to post that question regarding swingarm to the experts lol.. I wouldnt have a clue.

As for headlight... its still in my garage gathering dust. Its cool to have it there till you next visit to save on postage, up to you, if you dont want it, let me know and will then put it out for others. till then its yours.

Yeah she feels good. Mind you, I had a slight moment going round a roundabout this morning.. think I might have to adjust the rear somehow to adjust for changes on the front.. I had to lower forks down in the yokes as the adjustors on top of forks were too high for me to attach new bars in risers.. lowered it almost an inch which is a fair change.

Have you considered chopping a bit more out of your speedo bracket and mounting it under the top yoke?

I did that on my B12 when I had the original dials on and it was very neat from above.

Nah, Im pretty happy where my speedo is for now. I want to make a small screen to go on top of the lights and just sit above the speedo... Once I got that on, it will tidy up the front a bit.

Jarrod
