Thanks all, makes me think I better become a donating member real soon. Anyway I'm out again sorry and sore, a few weeks of not much sleep and pain etc etc. But, worst of it is knowing that I high sided in a straight line and the price of a new helment and parts. Thanks all again and you will never know what I can do on a poatie bike.

told you guys it was stupid, high sided in a straight line at 80klms, not much damage really. anyway here is the bike

this is the damage done by the towie

strap marks

marks from what the bike was strapped against

The damage could have been greatly reduced if only I was carring the phone number for SOS. Thanks heaps Jim for the final rescue of my bike from the towie. We need to catch up.

k mate ill pop round in the next few days .
and just to reiterate steves findings this sort of damage is not uncommon towies are equipped to carry cars and therefore ,most [not all ],normally see a bike like this as awrite off ,so dont feel the need to care much
...this "service" cost steve $160 for less than 10kms tow carry your local bike tow number please guys ...and avoid this sort of stuff
i will [with our leaders permission] get a list of bike specialist towies organised and posted soon if you want

boris

and put my number down for anyone travelling through the north coast jim not as a towey but as someone who will help with a trailer and who cares a lot more about bikes than towey's do

Yep cost me $160 for tow and $40 for storage over one night. Not impressed since towie said he would get my bike home not hold it for ransom

I used to make a rig that was like a tripod for the front wheel for RAQC flat's decks. When the old boy high sided his B12 the towwy was going to just throw it on the deck. I asked him if he had the rig and he didn't know. When I described it he says "Is that what that is?". So if a towwy asks to grab your, ask if they have a front wheel rig. It looks like a pivoting chanel the front wheel locks into, on a "T" shape base with wheels under it. Bikes wheel locks in, rigs wheels support the bike ant the trucks winch attaches to rig. Then just strap the bike to the deck like you would in a bike trailer.

The list would be great Jim.
