Expected Engine Problems

Aside from what may already be wrong with it, can you expect any additional damage or problems from an engine which hasnt been started in say 10 months but has been drained etc?

none whatever......just started my brother's 91'750M Gixer first time after a 2 years with 3 year old fuel ( fuel had not gone off yet , amazing) started first go without a hitch......

Awesome, thanks mate. Just want sure if any thing wears away without use. If Its been without oil for a while, is there any process for running it initially like running it in again etc.

Hey Seifer, i dont think it will need any special re-run in (dont know for sure though).
But after you fill the oil, press the starter and turn it over without starting at least a few times (like press starter till it turns, let go, do it again 10 or so times ect). This just gets the oil thru the pump into the system/up into the head so theres no dry parts when you go to start it properly.
