So whats the crack with these...How easy is it to set up the speedo...and is it accurate ? I've got the shits with speedos and tachos....can't get anything to run right...and with the gestapo speed police I can't afford any more points.
I have been quoted around $250-300 fior a set of stock fj clocks that I was going to gut but for that money I might as well have one of these.
I'm thinking of using the rectangular one to match the h/light.

I've got one and its sweet.

Its the little round one from exBen. It has a super bright blue background so all the little kiddies go oohhh aahhh when you turn the bike on. It looks trick and I have few complaints apart from the fuel guage being a bit off but apparently thats a simple mod that I have yet to do. I did have a problem with the blot shearing off the back of the pickup magnet for the speedo but I used another magnet I had lying around and it works no worries.

I had a copy of my wiring loom - took about 3 hours but most of it plumbed straight in with no fuss.

As for accuracy - they should be pretty damn accurate as they are such a simple system. I have not had any probs yet.

How did you get on with the oil light ? The loom on my new acewll shows connecting it up to constant neg, switched +...but most jap bikes run switched neg, constant +.

Oohhhh... I didn't notice that - Mine hooked up to the kwaka no worries... Oil like works perfectly.
Though I dont think the EFI light works proper...Hard to tell considering it only comes on if there is a problem.

And as for you ozkat - my eyeballs are bleeding now.

Sharky it's a misprint, just hook it up to the - oil wire running to your standard dash. I've sent them an email about the error.

I don't want to know where you got that from Shayne, especially as there is a shadow on his leg that's been doctored in the photo.

God - you actually examined the photo?

It's my job. I stare at photos and images all day and it just happens without me knowing. That's why these photos are no good for me. That one with the bottle hanging out of Fimp's arse really messes my day up everytime.

Got me speedo(s) fitted..all working, now for a road test....:D
To those that asked.....It was very easy to wire up as long as you know how to solder and can read a diagram.

Just dont make the same mistake I made.[:I] The leaflet isn't quite clear...it refers to 17" tyre size...what you have to do is enter the circumference of the tyre....I ended up overtaking all the cars on the Hume...whilst doing an indicated 80Kph [:0]...'Til I spoke to Ben and sorted it..I put a Tippex blob on the tyre and rolled bike forwards...measured between blobs...that is the size to enter.

Damn.
I rode along behind a mate doing a predetermined speed, making adjustments as I went.

I just used the old string while on paddock stand routine. It worked out spot on after following a mate.
