It was the XS11 that first got me into bikes....I was 14yrs old and it looked huge....I got a 10yr old copy of Superbike off ebay as it had a feature comparing the XS and the XJR. http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/63354431141067.jpg
It got me thinking and as I had to drop the forks to do the seals I soon started tinkering...and ended up back to this.....

That would be of interest to me Fishy, If you could photocopy/scan/tear it out for me, I'd be rather appreciative. ;)

rading performance streetbike before i had a license. then got a kr1s and did that up a fair bit (300cc kit, tyga pipes, damper etc) and loved it. was reading streetfighters when i was riding the stroker then got into stunt riding and bought a cbr600f2 that i did up as a streetfighter, got crunchy and then rebuilt it nice and been hooked ever since.

When I first saw Ghostrider run from the cops on his black GSXR fighter, I thought 'I've got to get a set of UFO lights for the GS, they look cool'. That was about four years ago now. Did a seach on the web for streetfighters, found this place and haven't looked back.

right ..i thot ud come up with some ingenius way of sortin it ...n ever mind .BTY my inspiration was a Z1000 i had a go on the back of in 1977 it took me til 89 before i got one it scared me so much [the handlin left a lot to be desired] that i converted it to more modern stuff[konis ,braced swing arm fork brace drilled discs, alloy wheels laser 4-1etc] i do have a pic of it but this site wont let me send it, too big i suppose

I'm going to try and find a set of stock FJ clocks, as they come apart easily, and graft the 2 together....kinda useful here to have an accurate speedo.
As for the pic, either send it to Si (or me) and it can be re-sized and posted.

My inspiration to streetfighter comes from reading "Australian Performance Streetbike"... I cant believe they shut that mag down as it rocked. Now these mags these days in Aussie that cater slightly to the streetfighter cause, also content with other crap im not interested in...

BRING BACK AUSTRALIAN PERFORMANCE STREETBIKE.......

I've had a string of custom cars - then got the bike bug - had a zrx1200r and stripped most of the lard and added about 20hp when she got hit by an old fart on the way to church. Wanted something crazy - bought a 2nd hand zx12r - hit a patch of oil and low sided into a car. I'm a student so cant afford plastic so streetfightered it - found this place in the process so now my bike is a constantly evolving work in progress. Sweeet

sitting in bike shops looking at all the same thing day after day and hearing all the stories from the cuntstomers about how good thier bike looks now they installed some coloured bolts and a tinted visor.

Then this bandy legged, cocky little prick rode up the street on an early GSXR750 and parked it out the front of the shop. (And between you and me he looked like a frog fucking a watermelon reaching down to those clipons;) but don't tell him I said that shhhhhhh!)

Yea. It's Steve Burns "Monster" (a name Ducati took onboard a few years later). It was around 1992 that he created this bad boy but it was nowhere near his first. The first one to grab my eye was his 3rd reincarnation Spondon Framed bike in '89, but the Monster just took me over the edge! If you haven't seen the link in "ABOUT ASF" in the main menu then here it is again, the Steve Burns history book, and still the guy who I reckon was the godfather of Streetfighters: http://www.spondonownersclub.co.uk/burnsiebikes.htm

Just one word - droooooooool

The engineering in those bikes is sensational. Its a pity he doesn't make a frame for the 12r - hmmm gap in the market or thesis for my engineering degree perhaps...

Mate, the Spondon Frame company would make one to any spec required, only you would have to have a wallet the size of a truck to pay them. Here's that call for an Aussie frame building company again! This subject has been visited many times.......
