How much smaller than the 20mm int of the bearing does the shaft need to be ?
Would 19.98mm be ok or does it need more clearance ?

It'd be fine youd just need to warm the bearing or cool the shaft wouldnt you?

And when I need to remove the arm....park the bike in a deep freeze ?
That's my concern...that it will be too tight...

19.98 is smaller than 20mm so it will be a slide fit, anything from 20mm will be an interference fit and need persuasion :D:D

back from tassie.

all depends if the neddles are running direct on the shaft or if the needle bearings have an inner ring that has the 20mm id and that if what you want the clearance for.

need more info russ

At last...Guru returns......
Needle bearings in the arm...sleeve goes through them...pivot shaft goes inside that.

you need enough clearance not to be tight, push it through by hand, tightening the bolt applies compression on the sleeve inside the needle rollers. Once the pivot bolt is tightened the sleeve should not move.
