Nice goop there, just make sure that your lines are clean and the return hole and feed hole aren't blocked. You will have at least that much crap again in your slave cylinder as well. If you don't get rid of it all it will fuck your seals.

Surely it would have fucked with his seals by now if it was going to happen.

Maybe not V, the new fluid will lift all the shit off the walls, and make it float around in your lines, which when it will damage the seals.

I had the same shit in mine when I pick the girl up... tho she had been seating just in a shead for a few years. Full strip and a few hours in the cabry cleaner then the flush and new seals and new disc seals, it almost all good again, tho still air in there somewhere lol

From memory, I think my slave cylinder is sealed, so I wont be able to get into it to clean in - But I'll have another look and assess =)

V, there is 24K on the clock, and not knowing the service background on the bike i thought after looking at that shit i better just do a full service on the brakes just to be on the safe side... end up using a toothbrush with the carby cleaner to get the last of the shit out of the return section.

Thats water, brake fluid is aquascopic it attracts water part of its job, over time water from the air gets in and you end up with that, this is why you should change your brake & clutch fluid every 12/24 mths (a) because it gets super heated and (b) it has gained a water content .

Yep and on the VFR the slave cylinder, when clogged with that crap, will occasionally stick halfway through its range of motion. This means the clutch can't fully engage, and wears prematurely.

You can easily strip and clean the slave - take it off, pump the lever to push the piston out (do it over a container of course), clean, reassemble. Pull out the long clutch actuating rod while you're at it and give it a clean and grease.

And get your seals desexed before it's too late.

I think you should have used a plain naan bread to wipe that slave out or maybe a garlic naan [:p]

Buy urself a seal kit mate ,take the calipers off and a coupla sqeezes on the lever will push the pistons out enough to be pulled free, look out for pitting on the pistons the rest is self explanatory

Its not that bad a job... I had to do the front and rear capilers and masters, clutch master and slave, the hardest out of all that was "poping" both pistons out at the same time from the capilers for the new seals. A bit of time with the toothbrush all around and inside eveything, hit with the rag and air gun and slab back together. Full day for me and a half case. but it was the 1st time i ever have done them so it was the old saying of slow is good.

oh and honda see's you coming a mile away when you buy the seal kits... $$$
