howdy all, been checking out this site for a couple of days now and thought i might introduce myself.

i'm a MASSIVE fan of the streetfighter/custom bike look. i've been around bikes all my life as my oldman is a bike nut. all of my teenage years saw me tinkering with chook chasers and i finally turned my interest to tar babies in my mid 20's, with much persuasion from my old man.

my first tar baby was a 97 aussie delivered cbr 250rr that did me well and after a little low speed slide around a round a bout i got bitten by the build bug. i customized my cibbie a bit and then recently sold it, now i'm hella keen to build myself a streetfighter.

i'm currently checking out a few 98 SRAD 750 gixxers as i think these bikes are a brillint model to work with.

hopefully in the near future i'll be posting up some pics of my work.

thanks for the welcome guys. i've just purchased a 98 SRAD 750 in very good nick. later in the week i'll become a donating member so i can utilize all this sites features.

feel free to throw some input/ideas my way as far as what parts fit from donating models, what i can expect from this specific model as far as pro's/con's.

also i might add, whilst i'm not new to motorbikes i am new to 1; big bore tar babies 2; fuel injected engines and 3; suzuki GSXR 750's, so if i ask some noob questions don't hold it against me or judge me because i am infact just that, A NOOB!

Welcome mate. Get a manual camchain tensioner in to that Gixxer motor, apart from that they are fairly bulletproof. I recently researched this exact model with a view to buying one as a trackday bike. There's plenty of srad info here.

well the first thing i want to do to the gixxer is maybe change over the seat unit with something a bit less bulky. any ideas on what fit's or what needs fabricating?

i've been scrolling through a lots of the threads on here but still open to ideas.
