A mate did mine and we did a write up in the "how to" section of this site if that helps any? Me and auto electrics don't get along......

I did mine, and just wired it parallel with the starter button, works a treat, But I do ride an 80's bike (minimal 'black box' electronics), so check that you can do the same on yours.

Yeah thats what a really want to do so I get mine warmed up in the morning and at work while i get ready.
