Am looking at fitting clear resevoir lines to my masters and I am wanting to colour my brake fluid (other than amber). I've just tried using food colouring on a sample (in a glass bottle, not in the bike) and it seems to take OK.
Wondering if this may be a bad idea / detrimental?
The food colouring is seriously concentrated (about 10 - 15 drops per litre) so I'm thinking it won't be diluting it to any noticeable degree.
Any thoughts??

Id test it out on a larger quantity first. I think you will find it will separate and probably settle after a few days.

The food coloring will heat up faster than the brake fluid.

It's basically colored water, could do serious damage to your seals.

Ford do have blue brake fluids in there branded type of fluid.

Just go to a dealer and ask what colour it is.

(The last 4 brake flushes I've done at work were blue).

Have Fun

Do not add anything to your brake fluid, food colouring's will probably have water in them that can boil in the lines & cause your brakes to fail under hard braking when you need them most.
Shell dot 4 fluid is green & mobil dot 4 is blue, these are readily available from bike shops & I'm sure Ive seen red as well, I dunno what brand tho.

OK - red, blue, green or amber it is then.

Thanks all
