At the moment I have my battery positioned upright inside the rear cowl. However due to the height of the battery I can't fit a pillion seat. If I position the battery on its side will this effect the life and effectiveness of my battery due to liquid inside possibly not covering the cells inside the battery?
Thanks in advance.

If its a sealed battery you can lay it on its side no worries, mine has been for a few years

The gel batteries can be put on their side. Most modern bike come out with gel battery as stock

Gel type can go in any position. Yours looks like a maintainance free (mf) sealed unit, it will lie on its side quite happily. The mf batteries can't be fitted upside down, where as the gels can.

Same here.
Had a stock B12 battery lay on its side in the tail for years.
Never a drama. Worked fine, lasted many years.
