1936 Ford roadster, steel Australian body, Carson style top, Le salle style grille, air bag suspension, new floor pans, narrowed hk holden front end, 9 inch ford with triangulated 4 bar, all new brake system, back half of chassis cut off and replaced with new section that has a 2 inch kick and a 1 inch notch, all new electrics, all new interior trim which includes the inner and outer of the carson style (removable) roof, and heaps more but I am too shagged to think straight, we have been working 18 hour days to get it ready for the Melbourne hot rod show. So if you are going in keep an eye out for it, looks bloody good even if I do say so myself. Gotta say thanks to Dave (Hueyonablade) and Rupert (Damige), who dropped in for a look and ended up picking up some tools and giving a hand[8D]. If you are intersted I can post up some more pics of the build.

Thanks you lot. Firstly I should point out that the car is not mine, we built it for the owner, so if you have a project drop us a line. I'll get some more pics up tomorrow.
Kato, would love to do some work on your falcon [8D].
Large, the hemi is a plastic mock up anyway [B)].
2ndclass, I was no fan of the colour either but now it's all together it works pretty well.
LX8VD69, there is a 351 windsor and C6 working a 9" at the back, got no idea how it goes yet as the first drive was onto the back of the towie[:I].
Turbo, see if you can get yourself onto the judging panel, a trophy would be good:D, up against some pretty good competition though.
There has been a fair bit of cash thrown at this but when compared to some others it's just small change. Will be picking it up from the show this evening and taking it back to work for some fine tuning.

New chassis section, notice the kick up over the rear axle and the notch, this gives us an extra 3" clearance

modifying the front end to take airbags, we also had to narrow it by 35mm to get the wheels into the centre of the guards

New rear crossmember installed, starting to fit new rear floorpan

Shaping Carson top, this becomes the plug from which the mould is taken. We then had a roof made from fibreglass and trimmed inside and out

We cheated a little with the grille, we started with an damaged original shell (like in the pic below) and cut out what we didn't want, rolled out some new steel then welded it into place, it was then finished off with hammer and dolly.

Hey Doc, car came third in the roadster class:D and third for the display. Pretty happy with that, especially as we were half way through the build before he decided it was going to be entered into any shows.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1264595830.jpg

As for apprentices we are interviewing this lot tomorrow, couple of likely candidates amongst them I think
;)

BANDITROD
27-01-2010, 09:26 PM
its easy gibbo just push them over and if they land on a fours you have your new apprentices lol ones that land on there back are to lazy to do any work
