i dont think they ever put much thought into that part of the stunt - which is AWESOME to watch. if you don't get a big stunt crash in mid air or something ,at least get something at the end.

1st clip at the top didn't really show you,
the lack of run-off was because he was trying to land on a barge in the harbour.
