G'day again, all. ;)
I'm starting to tire of the lack of low end power on my 600 Hornet.
I reckon my old VTR250 had more go, down low....:(
It's got me thinking (yes i'm still in pain) about a Bandit 1200.
Something like the one below, I could almost be doing a straight swap for my little Hornet.
I would want to get rid of the naf fairing thing on the front and put on a twin light setup (like the speed triple) and some Renthals.
What sort of costs would be involved in doing this conversion and would it be legal to do so?
From a performance perspective, how much harder will the Bandit go, compared to the Hornet? I know it's twice the capacity, but it weighs shit loads more. Any pros/ cons of the Bandit?
Sorry for the fukn novel.....[:I]
Daz.

Yeh, that IS why I'm called deafwish.....!
I'm sure the mighty Kat goes like the clappers, but really not my style. Can't get over the front end.... Each to their own I guess.
Anyone on here got a Bandit 1200?
Any info is appreciated.

Im not sure about the Renthal thingy either.. Ill see how I feel about once shes all cleaned up. I tried to keep it simple and yet now I have seen that yellow one Im thinking mine looks fussy in comparison. Still once I have a number plate I can start doing some more mods, like removing things that had to be there for rego.

As for the hoses. Big one is a Crankcase breather... runs to a filter on the other side of the bike. Not 100% sure if I will leave it where is at the moment... Other ones are cam oil feeders... allegedly increases the flow of oil around the top of the motor, but I bought em coz they look trick :D

Im a pretty shallow person really

I want to do the frame in a different colour once I have actually had some fun from it. We finished the tuning today it goes like....well lets just say it makes you consider where you want to stop well in advance of getting there.

Wish list includes a USD front end preferably off a GSXR750 or 1000 02 or later and a subframe and plastic setup from the same and a Ohlins rear suspension setup. Then maybe ultimately if I keep it a turbo... but there is a lot that can be done before we get back to the motor.

Its a lot of fun to ride and sounds excellent even before we cut the can (undecided yet). Just dial the height of the front wheel basically :D My first Bandit and im in love with the breed.
