We have freezing weather and a good dose of snow in England
and I`m heffing freezing !!
3" of snow last night and more showers today and its snowing hard right now at 11-30pm.
Too cold even for the garage.

Arse ! :(:(:(:(:(:(

Can you post some pictures of how hot it is over there please?.. so us downtrodden and poor as f**k Brits can warm us hands on the screen ? :D Run out of furniture to break up and throw on the fire....

Me and the mrs had to go out the front door and applaud a van monkey sat outside our house for 4 minutes spinning his front wheels while standing still until the thick twat reversed back down the road again. :D

Bye for now.... photos tomorrow ;)[:p]

Its suprising the Streetfighter scene in AU is as good as it is.
Its not hard to take your bike off the road if your a Pom,
but when you can ride almost all year round you'd have to
be keen to chop up your bike and not ride.

M1 was gridlocked for at least 5 hours coming out of London yesterday because of 3" of snow.

The channel tunnel has been shut for 4 days now since 2000 people got trapped in broken down trains 3 km below sea level in total darkness with no staff present. A few off duty coppers helped force the emergency doors open and they rescued themsleves. A lot of heavily traumatised poeple, old peeple, kiddies etc.

Travel chaos everywhere.

How many of you remember clearing the snow off your bike ? up to 4" of it at 6 o clock at night after work... in the dark. Clearing the ice from around the control switches, headlamp and clocks ?

So you could enjoy the ride 1 1/2 hour ride home in deep snow, sub zero temperatures and the dark.

Keeping your wheels in the ruts the car tyres had made in the snow and leaving your feet as close to the ground as possible incase the bike slid as they did quiet often.

When you had to ride with your visor up all the way with the amount of condensation from your breath ? After 20 minutes of this your face muscles froze.

Clearing the falling snow from around the air vents in your petrol cap every few seconds cos causes a vacuum inside the tank and cuts off the gas to the carbs?

and then at the end of your daily journey to work and same going home.....
Trying to find your ciggies and lighter in your jacket pockets when you have no feelings at all in your hands?
Its difficult when you can`t actually feel anything in your pockets cos you do`nt actually know which pocket they`re in ? Can take a very long time finding your smokes !!!

Burning your leather gloves trying to warm your hands on the cylinder head/barrels.

When you get off the bike and your body is locked in the same position when your standing ? Trying to walk while in a biker crouch is hilarious for all your work colleagues to watch.

Trying to put your heavy 1970s bike on its centre stand while your stood on sheet ice and can`t even stand up yourself?

When you arrive at your destination and a 1/2" thick sheet of ice falls off your front like an upper body cast?

When you get into the warm workplace and realise as your shivering, that you badly need a piss, struggling to get your leathers off with numb fingers, getting more and more desperate for a piss, then when you`ve got all your gear off, your so fuckin cold you cant` find your pecker !!! Its hibernated with the cold !!:D

When you stop and get of your bike and your fingers feel like they been hit hard with a hammer ! Gone through the numb phase, just into the pain phase.

A long time ago before bikers became big Jessies !

And will the kids today believe us ? :D;)[:o)]

I remember all that, and add trying to work on your bike out in the open because you have no garage, work for 5 mins until your fingers freeze, back in the house for 15 mins to thaw out, back out again in the sleet, takes about 5 hours to change a set of brake pads.

Yep, I remember that stuff, While we here in Oz might be bragging about how good our weather is at the moment, it can still get cold here, albeit not quite the UK/Euro level, I used to live at Lithgow, just slightly west of Blue Mountains, I used to ride to work to the Power Station at Wallerawang, about 10mins away, in winter it used to snow at times and used to get down to -6, I would still ride to work (on my first 1100 Kat), it was fun having ice all around your mouth in your beard and down the front of your leather jacket, sometimes I used to pick a mate up, he got worried one morning when I handed him my iced up visor (I used a half face helmet back then) then handed him my iced up glasses... that was a cold ride that morning... then there was the morning when I woke up and there was 4" of snow all over the place (remember, this is west of Sydney), I got the bike out and trundled down the road very slowly as there was too much ice on the road, since I was in a nice easy Government job, I decided to go home and have a day off, yeah, I know, soft.... there was another time I was playing Rugby at Oberon, we played with snow blowing across the field, did not have a half time (even though one of us brought a bottle of scotch for half time), when we finished the game (still snowing...) there were no hot showers, so cold showers it was... as usual after a Rugby game here in Oz, we had a few beers at the oppositions Pub and then I rode home with the snow still falling. Another cold one that comes to mind is the time I rode from the Power Station after work to a mates place in Melbourne... in winter.... I rode most of the night in temperatures that were hovering around 0 degrees, it was probably around 900kilometers that I rode, you do the wind chill factor and for around 10 hours too...

So yeah, it gets "cold" here, but up in Queensland, even in winter, not cold at all...

Cheers

All that will do is harm their own families and other Muslism here, thats all. A lot of Muslim businesses have seen their trade collapse and many Muslim businesses have gone bust because of the cretinous actions of the few.
British people will not shop or buy from Muslims when their own people do this shit. Fair play. ;)

They arent exactly a smart race are they?

Sixteen inches!
Snow is fun. What isn't fun is the useless fuckwits that think because the nice man on the telly said that cold weather is dangerous, they have to drive everywhere at twenty-fecking-five miles an hour. Useless twats.
Not having a good day today.

yep snow stopped work today. I live on a hill so most of the roads here are also on a hill, makes for some interesting car antics, Guess which type of car was the most common to be stuck and just spinning thier wheels in a fury of revs, you guessed it urban four wheel drives.
I'm ok, they think in a 4x4 init engaged 4x4 pedal to the metal and hey presto all four wheels spin and off they go sideways, backwards and all the while bouncing off other parked and abandoned cars until they abandone thiers, learn to drive the 4x4's knobs.
Snow is good fun been sledging today down a 200 foot hill and didnt break any bones, I was suprised thought I would have broke something, and the plus side of the snow keeps the beer at the right temp :D

A lotta fun ! I guess you took the kids ? ;)

Last week me and my mrs went out the front door and stood applauding loudly a white van monkey sat outside our house in the snow covered road spinning his front wheels at max revs for minutes.... until he saw us... [^] Fuckwits abound.
Thats a regular in our street in the snow.
Theres no answer for stupid ?

Tis a big red one HOS and it's easier to drive a van with better traction and rear wheel drive than the crappy gutless vectra I drive, which is unfortunately, why I have to do 25mph cos the wheels dont grip the road. Still had loads of fun spinning it out. Hit a concrete post yesterday, was only doing 10mph, damned shame cos I need a new car lol Wish the handbrake worked better, I'd be doing handbrake turns all day others - don't you just love abandoned carparks? lol

My Christmas eve went like this ;) :

Took my good lady into town in my car to do a couple of last minute shopping things. Noticed the car is sounding pretty Harleyesque ?
Looks at the back to see the exhaust hanging off !... arse !

Drive home knowing there`s nowhere open I can get the zorst sorted.
Gonna be a DIY job because I gotta pick one of the kids up Christmas day and be taximan the rest of the week :)

So 2-00pm Chrimbo eve and I am clearing the snow and 2" of compacted ice underneath of our front driveway with a spade so I can work under the car.
Luckliy it aint snowing but its wet and about -2 degs. :D
Took me an hour to do that.

Next: bring all my tools, axle stands, trolley jack and mats around from the back of the house.
Jack the car up and rest it on stands.
Jack the exhaust back up and remount the rear box where the hangers bust.
Repair the middle exhaust pipe connector thats twisted and ripped open 1/2 way down the underside using a cut and shaped baked bean tin, cable ties and aluminium repair tape.
Trying not to lacerate my hands on the sharp edges of the bean tin ;)

Took me 2 hours lying under the car on cold wet concrete after getting angry and kicking the rubber mats out the way.
Just starting to go dark and my fingers have no feeling left to peel the backing paper off the aluminium repair tape.

Job done !

We iz fukkin ard us bikers !!! ;):D:D

Self reliance is good if not fukkin painful [:p]

I'd trade the sun here for living in europe any fucking day. Went to school in Switzerland and Holland and lived there most my teenage years.. moved back here (fuck knows why) and have been trying to get back there every since!

Never been one for the heat. Much prefer it to be sub zero than 40+ !!

They are on about closing the schools down here tomorrow.. they can fuck right off! He was off over xmas, then one day back, a week off and he's doing my head in! These retarded teachers see a bit of snow on the trees and suddenly develop 'can't get to workitis'. :( A couple of schools shut early today and there wasn't even any slush on the road!!!!

I feel sorry for the temp workers. I got fired for taking two days off to look after my son when he was ILL. Can you imagine those with kids who can't goto work cos their kids are off school? How many people are losing their jobs over these bullshit decisions?

Granted, north of Watford-Gap have got it bad, so fair enough but down here..... soft in the head! Grrrrrrrrrrr :(

Know how that feels Noz.
I`ve been a freelancer (temp) most of my life. You get to be a right mercenary fecker, coz you have to.

UK employers are in the vast majority lowlifes, they don`t get any respect. I go there work hard, do the job and leave.

With being on one weeks notice, thats cool, coz I get bored very easily, especially working with the deadheads I usually do.
