looks sweet. make sure you put a verry small headlight on there. as it looks tough as with nothing going forward of the forks

Cheers guys!

slickncghia, I agree. I have 2 small HID projection lights I plan to mount with a billet bracket and no body work. Keep the minimalistic theme going.

Cheers gents. I am thinking of painting the bellypan the same gloss gun metal as the tank and the front fender matte black like the underside of the tail section.

How's the tail section subframe built? Is it just holding on from the 1 point? Can't see any support brackets. Looks wicked, just wondering how it will hold up

wackyrider, the subframe is pretty minimal but is made of steel and I put a lot of thought into the design to maximise strength. There are no side supports but it bolts on the top holes on the main frame and has a centre support that rests on the top of the top shock mount. it ends up cancelling force put on that mount from the weight of the bike. It is incerdably strong and can even support a pillion I recon although I don't plan on testing it. It weighs just a bit less than the stock alloy subframe (I was hoping for more weight savings but strength is more important)

some details:
r6 tail
fuel injection hardware from a 929 adapted to 900 head
microsquirt ecu
head gas flowed and ported. Compression raised slightly
a metric shitload of custom alloy bits either powder coated, anodised or black chromed.
custom headers and micron gp can ceramic coated
Megatec bellypan and front fender still to painted
intagrated signal tail light and bar end indicators
mini billet dash
to keep the cockpit clean I ran the wires thru the bars and mounted the ignition and starter button on the side of the bike.

Still need to wire up the ecu to all sensors and do a million small jobs but she is getting there[:p]

I was thinking the same thing, doesnt look like theres much support.
If you find its not strong enough its not so hard to blend a stock r6 subby to the cbr subby mounts. I did it on abes (funkenfresh) 954 and it turned out a treat, and strong enough to support a pillon.

Nice build though, looks awesome without the clutter around the subby mount points.

Cheers guys:) good to know your hard work stacks up.

Ya I will keep an eye on the subframe but it is seriously strong. I was bouncing the shit out of the pillion seat with all my weight and it seems good. I still will only use the main seat I think. Don't want to sort out pillion pegs anyways.

Next step is to make a licence plate bracket that complies. I'm thinking of having it sit curved around the back tyre with brackets holding it to the rear axel. (I have no idea how I am going to get this thing thru safery haha) Stuff some steel wool in the silencer and hope the officer takes bribes:)

Hi Dan :)

I saw in you cbr900 thread that you used a 929 fuel injection bodies on you cbr 900.. Wich inlet rubbers did you use for that, and is there anything else needed to connect them to the cylinderhead?

Kind regards
Morten
