View Full Version : Which acewell dash?

Further from my introduction, I have to get this Hyosung road legal so I don't get any speeding tickets or similar. The LCD dash is busted, all I have is fuel, temp and the last digit of the odometer left, the rest is black :P

Instead of paying $$$ for a genuine (read dodgy) Hyosung dash, or trying to find a second hand one, I'm looking at the acewell dashes.

From what I've read here they should be fairly basic to wire up as long as I can find a wiring diagram for the Hyosung. I have a few further questions though.

1. My dash is COMPLETELY electric, im going to go hunting for the speed sensor on the bike tomorrow, if its the magnetic pickup type, would this mean that I can just wire it in and calibrate? or would hooking up the reccomended sensor be more suitable?

end questions :P

best part yet, what dash to get? I'm chopping up between the 3963, 3701 and 2853.

3701 - squarish, has all the idiot lights, fuel and looks nice and basic. $290

2853 - Rounded, and as above.
$360

3963 - Squarish once again, looks exactly like the 3701 but im not sure if its backlit.
$350.

Since the Hyo dash is fairly square im considering the cheaper 3701. What do you folks think?

Ive got the 3963, but thats coz i needed something to show revs past 12,000rpm and a speedo that goes to 399kmh instead of 299kmh (Heh, got a very angry ZX12r awaiting turbo-attention)

Rounded or squared, its your choice, id suggest the cheaper 2-series jsut for finances sake, it should do you for what you need doing at the moment

I've got the 2853 and love it. Small, easy to mount in non-standard places (got mine off right side of frame), and has all the features etc.

I've got the 3962AB with fuel gauge, temperature and the lot. It's fucking beaut. Idiot lights are hard to see in bright daylight though.

I've got the circular one on my missus' bike, it seems to need to be at the right angle for it to be visible at night but otherwise it's fine. Idiot lights are better on this one.

I got my 3962 from Electrosports USA. US$238 delivered, using this discount cose: d4ea32. That's around $260 AU at today's exchange rate.

Use "facebookfan" for discount. Just used it and am getting a dash and pickup delivered for $200US, happy days.

Found it with an internet search btw, have never even logged on to look at facebook (felt I had a need to clarify that:D)
