What the deal with false neutrals .. last night i left work and stoped at a bottle shop , blasted off and got nothing going from 4th to 5th ... the bike was warmed up and all .. this has never happened before .. WHY? is the box on the way out ? i have no idea so anyone with the smallest amount of know-how will know more than me .. Thanks IV

Check your foot position in relation to the gearshift, if you have to move your foot too far , esp if you are "blasting off and probably leaning forward more than usual. then you may not shift as far or as positively as if your foot and lever were closer.
Once or twice is no big deal , if it becomes regular something may need attention.

At the riding school for learners in NSW they teach you to hold pressure on the lever until you release the clutch and apply drive to the gears. With the small amount of angle on the dogs in the box, this helps to mesh them and avoid missing gears:D

Sloppy left foot syndrome :D

Common on the 80's Jap bikes.
