Never had one that didn't need an armourer after a trip to the range.

And who the hell has a top 10 that does not include an AK?
I think they were more concerned with quirky styling as opposed to how well it actually functioned.

Shit you must have been hard on it. I've never had and F88 screw up and break and I've shot thousands of rounds through em.

The SLR was a piece of shit compared to the Steyr, fucken old timers always goin on about how awesome the SLR was, well I used the SLR for about five years before we changed over to the Steyr and I will gladly have a comp with any of those old fuckers any time with me using a Steyr and them using an SLR.

Steyr is a pretty good gun but seriously M16? WTF? Now that is a real piece of shit.

He's got a couple of "Holland and Holland" 12-bore's,
and one antique that was Holland before the family merge,
(opre 1861) quite collectable and not cheap.

Those that know their gun's will appreciate the history of early Damascus wire wound barrels.

http://www.hollandandholland.com/history/index.htm

Also has a few odd-ball's like a precusion pistol with an hexagonal barrel and a
10-gauge 36" Marlin Goose Gun ( tried shooting clay's and you could smash
them as they floated to earth as far as the trap could chuck them)

However, any rifle that can be made fully automatic with a matchstick is pretty cool in my book.

I think that list was compiled by a 15yo who plays counterstrike, or call of duty.

I would LOVE to have a crack at a p90 Its like the L300 Express van of the firearms world. kind of unco looking and would feel wierd having control of it so far forward, over the center of gravity.

I was a little concered when I did the stery course as a cadet, as to how effortlessly the thing would jam up and you'd "shake" the bent rounds out of the ass of the thing and keep going!?? only happened once to me, but a few people got it constantly.

I managed to fire an extra round down range once I'd hit my 8 targets cause the fucking thing popped back up and I was so damn excited I lost count!, so I was 1 down for the next go and ended up in 2nd place. I heard shit things about those rifles? but don't know for certian. Didn't feel right washing the ass of it under a tap tho - And despite the myth I don't think I found the tuppaware symbol on it anywhere.

I want an SLR - purely for wang factor, and stopping power. .308 even at semi auto would be a mother fucker to hang onto, let alone hit anything with it.

Seeing as I work for the company that make the Styer, I have to say it's a great weapon. I biggest complaint would have to be that it doesn't have the stopping power of the SLR. It is because of this the defence force is looking to go back to a 7.62 round. We are expecting a decision with in the next 6 months as to whether they want us to manufacture 7.62 rounds or if it will be bought offshore.

Cruisecontrol

I was of the impression that it was a tactical move to use 5.56. The reason being that a bigger round will simply kill a man and the smaller will only wound him, removing him and the two soldiers that carry him, from the battle field.

Iceman
29-11-2009, 12:19 PM
That was true, but the enemy has changed. The problem wth the taliban being that if wounded they still shoot back. We have had the same complaint with our hand grenades. Although orginally designed to inflicted horrific injury, now we are working on making them leathal.

Aparently like zombies, you have to kill these fuckers dead to actually stop them.
