HELP!!

not bike related but thought id ask here,my old work ute has lost 1st an 2nd gear,its a 86 hilux 2wd 5 speed,was told that boxes from other models may fit anyone know if its true or what models would fit?reco boxes are fukin exe and 86 model boxes are hard 2 find.thanks

my guess would be a Celica 5 speed. What engine dose it have in it?

Or the supra 5 speed... If it fits got one with the steel sandwich plate...

1st and second, sounds like you may have sheered the selector fork pin, pull it down and have a look cheaper to fix than buy new box.

Just google it.... Im sure u'll come across plenty of forums etc discussing suitable replacements...

its a 2 ltr timbo,will open it up this w/end when i pull it out and check selector fork grindella,thanks all 4 ur advice.

it has to come out anyway, so why not check it when its out, may only be a simple problem and if its not then you have wasted nothing.

ok so it's a 18r so the supra or celica 5 speed will boil straight up

Not too sure that a Supra was released with an 18R.

Check out Corona boxes. They had 18R engines from 73 or 74 onwards for a few years. Hard as nails box.
