Picked this up for 1400 pounds. Very happy with it just going to make some changes to the indicators and change the headlights and fit a harris zorst to it for now.

Went along to Oberon engineering workshop/shop today had an interesting chat with them. They are about to launch some new cnc goodies in the new year, which of course I must have

as you can see from the photos below there is a bit of refurbing to do to the polishing and a few bolts to replace.
the chain and sprockets are new.

the chain gaurd needs shortening and polishing and the fork bottoms require a pint refresh and some new disc bolt.

The head lights are going dont like them

headlight fairing has now been fitted and brackets made then taken off to get painted, this is what it looks like on the bike in the position it will be in.
Held on with a bungee strap while I was measuring up for the brackets.

The top view is of the clock mount plate which is going to be used as a template for one I am making from ally, which will have a single acewell pod speedo in it

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1266958569.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1266879899.jpg

Think I might be changing them risers too as they look a bit harley tartish to me for something a bit more square and suited to the bike
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1266926732.jpg

The next pic shows how it will look with the viper oval stubby in position, got some polishing to do to that fucker it was used on a pit bike before and abused, was going to have it under the engine but it didnt look right.
Forgot to mention that the current link pipe will be wasted at the silencer end to fit the viper can. So it blends in nicely and not a sudden change from big fat pipe to not so big fat pipe, should help with the required amount of back pressure required as well.

Well its been a while since I did anything to the bike due to lack of cash and life stuff but things are on the up now. Got a well piad job and so the bike work resumes.
In the processe of making my own wiring loom it is goint to be in three parts lighting, charging and ignition and very minimal to the point of the wiring should be all but invisible.
Anyhow a few pics of what has been going on.
Instead of going for the mirror polished stainless look for the dash I decided to brush it first then polish it, turned out very good I rekon

Headlight fairing ready for flatting before clearcoat

Finished item after 5 coats of clear and flatted between coats
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1283133254.jpg

The brackets I made up for the headlight fairing originally looked all maccano like so I binned them and adjusted and used the ccm brackets for the headlight fairing , end result was no visible brackets :D

A bit more of an update chaps, shit camera phone by the way
I changed my mind on getting a harris works collection zorst and have decided to make up a twin pipe setup using mainly gsxr slingshot 1100 parts.
So here we have the slingshot 1100 headers or down pipes test fitted to see what needs work. As you can see I just need to have some stainless welded on to the shoulder so the clamps will hold the headers in place and slot the clamps as well.
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/zorstheaders.jpg

And a bit of luck here the outlets have ended up in the right place

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/zorstoutlet.jpg
Back indicators fitted and the reg plate is going to be trimmed down

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/indicatorsfitted.jpg

And one with the clocks fitted and new risers which look a bit out of line due to new spacers need to be made up for the bolts as the original riser bolts were fatter

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/wrinklesarestartingtoappear.jpg

Here are some more pics now it has had time to cure, as you can see the shine has turned to a sheen and will dull a bit more once the engine has been started.
I have since taking these pics given some areas another coat as there was a few areas where the wrinkle didnt happen to well.
The starter motor cover is going to be replaced with a nice new shiny one.
When the stainless engine casing allen bolts are fitted it will look sweet.
The paint will be removed from the four chrome bolts that cover the ends of the cams spindles and there will be stainless cams cover allen bolts fitted, just waiting for the bolts to turn up.

Not been in for a while due to my rottweiler dog and forum name sake alfiestorm not being well after being diagnosed with cancer, any how thanks to the specialist vet and animal hospital he is making a full recovery oh and thank fuck for pet health insurance too co's the bill was 8K GBP.

Anyway back to the bike.

Done a bit of reflective lettering on the seat trim its black in normal light but will reflect back in what ever colour light is shined at it.

Done a fair bit to the zorst as well.
The cans I had made my megawatt have turned out fuckin awesome and just what I wanted, still need to do a bit of work to the headers

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0581.jpg
then the test fit with two
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0584.jpg
and ran into a few probs with some of the running gear, not enough clearance for the brake pedal to oprate properly and the gear lever plus a bit of a drive chain touching the link pipe going on too. It appears I made an error when checking the clearances needed with the link pipes
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0588.jpg
bit of a shame though as all i would have had to do is get some collars made for the link pipes to join the collectors
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0587.jpg

Anyway we have a solution to the problem which has turned out even better for the cans as they will now sit at a bit more of an angle and tucked in a bit better
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0592.jpg
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0591.jpg
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0590.jpg

It does however mean that there will be a need for longer collars are made and welded in for it all to be bolted up.
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0590.jpg
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk13/alfiestorm/GSX1100EFE%20EG%20streetfighter/100_0589.jpg

I do wish my gas mig welder had not gone tits up or I would be doing the collars myself.
