On the look out for a project bike.
Now i've got a shed and a few weeks off for Xmas its time to start looking.
Would prefer S/E Qld, Gold Coast/Brissy/Gympie/toowoomba/ Northern NSW
etc as it would be nice to have a look first and easy to bring home.

Got my short list down to.....

Kat 1000,
Kat 1100, (SD would be nice)
GSX11 ET,
GSX11 EX,
Mk1 shape oil-cooled Bandit 12,

Would like another Mk1 Busa, Maybe even a later Bus or B-King if my funds would
stretch to a damaged repairable ? unlikely I think.

Im keeping an eye on Ebay/bike trader/been around a few shops etc,
but im either looking in the wrong place or scabby old bikes are f#ckin' expensive!
Not desperate to buy, but if anyone has something, or spots something local"ish"
then let me know.

Tony.J.

...or tell me what i've missed off the list.
Maybe an 1100EF/EFE but i've never liked the looks,
rode a couple of GSX14's, went off them pretty quick,
Didnt fancy a Oil cooler R again,
Dont like the water cooled one's,

Mmmmmmmm.................

Your probabley very close to the truth. Had one for 12 years,
longest i've ever owned anything by far.

Only sold it when i emigrated out here,
and regreted it ever since.

...just a little suprised at the high price and poor condition
of the one's i've looked at.

I've looked at Kat's going for double what I paid for Devo's ET.
Perhaps im just a bit out of touch. I'd love a Kat but they shouldn't
be getting close to Busa prices.

Saw that one. I'd need to sell one of mine to stretch to that.
Did think about a "race only" bike but decided to stick to streetbikes.
If I was more serious about the Drag's, I'd have snapped this one up.....

Tony what do you think of your B-K , i'm looking for my next bike and undecided, my busa roady may be going
and the short list is a 08+ busa or B-K

Great fun bike, but could be better.

They have thier faults. Tanks small, pillion seat useless,
bit tight on leg room (for some),longer and heavier than a Busa.

Dont regret buying it. They are the best at what they do.
The only other big-bore nakeds in their class is the funny front end
more expensive BMW,

All the naked 1000's lack grunt and top end, V-Max / Rocket 111 are
long and lardy, the Retro GSX/ZRX feel lazy and tame. I take mine for
granted and only realise how good it is when I ride it back to back
with other new naked bikes.

If mine was gone tomorrow i'd probabley buy another.
Then again, I might be like you, torn between a Busa and a B-King.

"Shredder" has had several Busa's and Turbo Busa's and he seems happy
with his BK.

No, not yet, but im being fussy. Dont need another bike and have
plenty of jobs to do on the 3 im using. Just keeping my eye out
in case something nice turn's up.

James who I met at AFR09 has had his Turbo Busa on Ebay twice but it
didnt sell. (Jap import/no compliance) if he puts it up again I might
go and have another look.

If the budget goes far enough i will buy 2 of everything and put togeater a second kit for sale ;)

tidy enough bike, is that a Velocity turbo kit ??

Tony Nitrous

Maybe Velocity. Cant remember. Havent got any details for him but
he pop's up an Ebay with his toys sometimes. Just remember it was
an non-compliance bike and a US turbo kit.

I think he said they'd seen 310hp out of it, but it was currently
running around 250 ? not 100% sure.

Have you seen the Velocity B-King ?
Not claiming any huge silly numbers but worth a look as a streetbike,
(without the fat tyre)

Been looking at the varous turbo and supercharger kits Velocity looks to be the most intergrated turbo, blending in like it was std and talked to Richard at TTS last nite, hoping he will sell some components as i want to build most of the kit myself but love the billet outer cover/external bearing support on the tts supercharger kit,

Thats the mounts and guard i spoke to tts about, want to source my own SC bit smaller that tts sell but higher rev limit and i think in a better effiancy range for what i want (but i'm still learning and may change my mind ;) ) , and i want to do a water/air intercooler so there is not much point in buying a complete kit, and i prefer a toothed belt, poly v are quieter but you nearly always get some slip.
Know one guy who does supercharged busa motors in hillclimb cars in Leongatha that had a poly v belt running 14 psi, suspected some slip so changed to toothed and damaged the engine at 19 psi ... same ratio...

Similar kit but they put an intercooler under the Busa tank....

I think i just bought a bike.

Waiting to call the guy back.
Won't get to excited untill i've seen it, but....

Its the right make, right amount of cylinders, right size motor.
(and cheaper than any of the 4 in the shed so im not expecting too much)

Fingers crossed, I might have a project for the Xmas hol's.
