I've been trying to balance my carbies with a morgan carbtune and ive got em pretty close but now I wanna get one of their clear colortune plugs and adjust the mixture. Ive never had to touch it before, had it 5 years, so is this wise?

I've got a dynojet stage 3 kit and vance and hines ss2r pipe and she goes well but the idle is a bit rough. Keep telling myself if it aint broke dont fuck with it but I dont listen.

Mate theres no dramas with adjusting them.!

Just try 1/4 turn out at a time if it makes it worse go back in to where you started.

I'm running mine at 2-3/4 turns out from bottomed out.

Thanks Damo. That leads to my next stupid question. Where is the screw? Is it this little fucker here?

I know some of them have a plug on them to stop you adjusting them. If so how do you get at the inner ones? Any advice would be appreciated.

No mate it's under the carb at the front you wont be able to see them, you can only get a short flat blade in there.

It's pretty much done by brail.

There pretty much right at the front of the carb just in front of the float bowl before it goes into the intake rubbers. Under neth.

If my computer would let me up load pics i do it for you.

Hey dude... the screws are on the underside... see masterfully edited pic below. (they're in that general area, underneath)
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1258570453.jpg

They're kinda recessed (as in, buried in a tunnel), I found the easiest way to get to them is with a flat head bit out of one of those cheap socket and bit sets... just the bit, held in your aching fingers (do it three or four times, they'll ache! ;)

I'd say yours are probably not covered, if they are however, you'll need to pull the carbs off, drill a small hole in the plug, and just pop it out... may as well give em a good clean while you're at it:)

tip: pull the air filter out, then the carb to airbox rubbers push all the way back into the air box, allowing way more room to extract the carbs... also, try to be careful of your idle adjuster, I busted mine pulling the carbs just two days ago (had an aggro moment, and thought i was the hulk!!![:I])

Damn this non smoking shit[xx(]

that's the buggers!!!! looks like they're unplugged... sweet... also, just noticed you've got pods on there... disregard my rant about air boxes, and rubbers, and broken timing adjuster knob thingy's... lol...

Thanks for that. I know the Hulk feeling well.
Have you tried the colortune plugs for tuning them? I'm just wondering if theyre any good. Probably get one anyway becoz there pretty cheap.
Saw someone put an extended idle adjuster on a stunt bike. Thought that was a good idea. They are a cunt to reach anyway.

Can't say I've tried the colortune plugs. They seem like a good idea. And if they're cheap, why the hell not!
