I got a 93-94 gsxr 1100 subframe with the intent of wlding it onto the backend of my mutilated gs500. I was wondering if ayone has done this and/or if anyone had any suggestions for seats that would look badass. Also what kind of plastics could be forced on to look pretty. Ive seen some pretty awe inspiring gs500's on this site so I was hoping for some sinsight. I wanted to chop off the backend to give it that real street fighter look but unfortunately this is my only mode of transport, so I need to be able to take on passengers. Cheers all.

This is what it looked like before the hacksaw and spraypaint. I work with a guy now who can paint it all professional like.

That chain is running out......or the single sider is ......
Er.. welcome to the madness Throst

the chain is for the badass factor. Also when I took off all the plastic there were the brackets left over, so I stuck a chain on it to hide the fact that there were ugly metal protrusions.

Im wondeing what to do with the backend while retaining my two-up capability. Like I said I have a GSXR 1100 subframe, anyone know if there is anything I can do with it?

I also ordered some chrome dragbars and a new headlight to make her more naked. Thinking about a fairing from angry guy streetfighters. They are pricy though.

I thought the chain was some new radical steering damper.

GS territory is "Iceman" territory Thorst. He'll give you the low down.

Mate lose the chain..........its an accident waiting to happen. Plus it makes you look like you should be hangin out in the shithouse at the blue oyster bar.

Welcome by the way.

The gixxer subframe would be pretty big on the 500 i reckon. Probably better off doctoring the stocker like the iceman.

Here's how I made mine.
STEP1- cut bike in half with angle grinder

STEP2 - cut plastic mud guard in half with angle grinder, ( do you sense a common theme here? )
STEP3 - this was the hardest bit, sit down with plentiful amounts of amber liquid and figure out what you need to support, ie seat, taillight etc.
STEP4 - weld pieces of steel together randomly and hope it holds your weight

And don't forget the sissy bar at the back eh!

:D

that looks badass iceman. I still need the two up capability though. I thought that since you could buy the solo seat for the gsxr it would look badass, maybe I could bed the back part up or cut and rewled to make it slimmer. I dont know. I stuck some drag bars on her. Low and mean. I got a new headlight coming in the mail. I have enough to keep me busy for a while, so I dont have to think about the backend till I can figure it out. I was also thinking of sticking a buell x1 backend on her. Like in the pic. Looks like a lot of work though.

the buell b/end doesnt look bad at all but i would guess that it would be exspensive as there would not be to many of them kicking around?

Hi,

a GS500 with a buell X1 backend isn't something new in germany :D
Here are some pics of my GS500. It isn't finished by now. Since these pics were taken many details changed.

http://img348.imageshack.us/img348/9134/gabelheck032vt.jpg

On the pics the gs has rgv250 usd forks, bandit 600 swingarm and wheel. Now the gs has also a shark track double exhaust, a gastank and the oilcooler from the gs500f, a carbon untertray for the x1 backend and some more details.

By the way, hi@everybody i'm the webmaster of the german 500xtrem community.

@Iceman Great work you've done on your GS500.

At the moment i've no new pics of my GS. It's currently disassembled to do the paint job and some other details. I hope everything will be done in a few month. It takes time, because i'm still doing a apprenticeship as a industrial mechanic and i don't have so much money to do everything at once.

I'm still trying to improve my english, if i'll do any mistakes please tell me.

I can't believe people do this to GS500's

I have one myself, and it's a streetfighter of sorts.

It's got a GSXR subframe and tail, MX bars, little headlights etc.

I've never posted pics cause it's a bit of a shitbox but I think I might have to dress the old girl up a bit and post up some pics ;)
