I have a problem with my cbr.
its smooth up to 4,750 rpm then runs like a dog to about 10,000rpm.
it also has what seems to be a rattle when revs are high (14k).
I'm suspecting it may be a faulty CDI stuffing up the timing somehow...
ive never had the bike going very well as i bought it as a basket case. I'm sure its not the carbs as ive cleaned them out and it has no vac leaks.
Im bringing the cdi over to a mates place next week to try it in his cbr, see if it makes a difference on his bike.
the speedo has been stuffed around with and the red speed light has been removed so i hope this isnt part of the problem...
the engine covers have been replaced as they were damaged, so could it be a damaged pulse unit?
anyone come across this problem before?
any info appreciated... im dying to see what this thing goes like...

I would go carbs myself they run three jets in the bowls. A low, mid and top end set up. does it pull clean over 10,000? The revs you state are around the mid range jet zone.
