just about to get a new set of bars i've always had renthals but just wondering what poeple think of other brands?pro tapers etc....this subject may have been covered b4 but i couldn't find it....

Up to you mate. What riding position do you like? I have some fuck off wide Pro Taper (copy brand which I forget the name of) fat bars that take out any cars near by, whereas I used to ride drag bars, straight and flat. Both these styles mean more lean forward, but I like that. If you prefer something thinner or more upright you have to ask one of the other guys. Just remember fat bars will require bigger riser clamp holes to accept them.

I like Renthals but some use other Brands.

1 tip to anyone would be measure the straight on you existing bars,
include Grip, Switchgear and Master cylinder / Mirror clamps. Some
bikes have chunkyier switchgear than others and some MX bars dont
have enough straight area.
(Results in master cylinder/mirror clamps mounting on or to close to
the first bend in the bars) I had this on an SV and I think Des
mentioned it to.

thanks fellas i got given a set of pro taper risers so i'm going with them. i'm a short arse so i'll look at the different rises on the bars. did you cut them back at all to make them shorter?
