Hi all long time

Got bored sold off the swinger and clutch cover
exile wants the r6 seat unit for a blade project
pretty much cut off the back end and start again

i liked the idea of a drag arm and stuby seat unit
so gonna play and see how it comes out

so the score exile sold me the streched busa arm

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257511769.jpg

got scott to to weld up two outlets onto a new clutch cover

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257476383.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257452955.jpg

defo has to painted black
blagged a complete busa rear wheel on egay with 1200 on it
picked up a offset sprocket from debden engineering
im going to use the gixxer shock as it was reworked with tech 2000 internals and has a harder spring
so currently got a reducer made for the swingarm pivot when we fitted it all together relised the top shock mount had to be ground off

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257525364.jpg

and a new ones being made to ensure the shock clears the arm

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257473371.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257457662.jpg

got a set of dogones and hacked them to see what the rideheight is like from that scott is making me up a set of adjustables so we can get the ride height down a bit
other issues cant fit the battery were it used to be so mocked up a battery box at the rear of the bike and going to use the space left by the battery to properly mount the nos kit
picked up a r6 carbon seat unit for nothing of douggy brand new modded to fit (still love these units) nice big hump on the rear ideal for hiding the battery

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257508032.jpg

met a guy called slav who has painted the rear unit matt black came out well so hes in the process of doing all the rest of my bodywork mattblack and the tank will have the skull of my site airbrushed into the tank no stipes just matt black

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257434351.jpg

so lots of work to do but hey unlike last year no rush picked this up for a song with 6k on the clock and using as my hack
maybee a poss future project lol

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1257446315.jpg

il update as i go along

hi all time for some updates
got bugger all done over xmas however last couple of weeks things are moving on

scott fabricated up the top shock mount worked a treat shock now clears the arm and the adjustable dog bones he made for me let me drop the bike down not that you would notice it much with the seat unit on

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/Photo034.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00331.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00258-1.jpg

wheel alignment was great fun not had to cut back the frame spacer on the swingarm pivot to move the arm nearerer to the chain run now pretty much lined up still got to make sure of chain alignment and gone of the idea of an offset sprocket as it looks like im going to have to cut a chunk out of the frame so goin to space out the sprocket instead

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00319.jpg

nos bottle fits snugly inbetween the arm and the wheel and still in two minds about were im going to put the solonoids the fuel pump ig getting a billet bracket made and is going were the battery used to be

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00322.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00323.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00340.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00401.jpg

the fix for the brake lever dident work had to mod up both clutch and brake leavers and shorten the push rods
looks like im going to have to go for banjo bolt type switch and loose the front brake microswitch

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00400-1-1.jpg

more as and when

spart666
25-02-2010, 10:19 AM
well my fucking sprocket still hasent turned up
so i startrd looking at the chain alignment put in a 3mm spacer it looks ligned up
but bloddy tight will need to look at properly when the sprocket turns up and i can fit the chain properly

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00409.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00410.jpg

decided to put the exhaust back together and make up a temp bracket the cans a stubby oval and made by carbon can co i think a 60mm outlet changed the headers from gsxr to bandit (micron stainless steel) bandit headers worked better than the gsxr units as it let the can just mount under the sump with bugger all clearance (thanks exile for the straight swap)

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00417.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00415.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00416.jpg

exhaust nice and hidden

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/spart666/DSC00418.jpg

because i changed the exhaust system bellypan had to be modded to fit so out came the dremil and off to the painters for the obligatory matt black hopefully putting this back together tommorow need to modify the front cleft as it fowls on one of the headers so thats it for now laters:

hi all
aint updated for a while got a touch pissed off with it and left it alone back on it now still aint happy recon the rear end needs something to breakup the colour so looking at a gloss black number board with graphite surround the bottle needs to go annodised black and keep the fittings polished
still need to sort out some hose fittings tidy up the wiring put oil in it
bla bla bla
the bit thats bugging me is the front lights look to small for the bike and it looks wrong so i thinking a showyo unit dont wanna go the exile way as he will hunt me down and mount my dogs (again):)
i have one in mind but want to see what your thoughts are at 300 i need to get it right or if you have any other ideas feel free
cheers

banging my head mate gonna go for the new headlight worst scenario mod it to make it work dont know what it is but im just bored with the bike so playing till im happy when i eventually get to ride it it still puts a bigger smile on my face than my gixxer k3:D

update on the front
decided to go for a number board love the look of the harley davidson grass trackers
hardest part was finding some lights that are any good and not to deep
had a look at piaa lights may be the way to go
so wheel got sorted kink taken out the forks were not as bad as first thought
and again sorted the discs one carrier is buggered so bought some new discs
front mud guard brackets broken so they will be ground down and not used
so basically front end off and going to get sleves made up for the forks cnc machines spacers and possibly will have to make new wheel spacers or if im really unlucky new wheel spindel also some new pullback risers fabricated

plan is when done wheel off to powdercoaters forks split up and tube and lowers polished and annodised black forks already have harder springs due to being used on the busa but will probably used thicker oil
front calipers stripped and repainted
yokes repolished new bars
then i can get into looking at what im gonna do with the lights and number board

I think Sparts 636 forks have a lower clamp diameter of 52mm Noz, and your R1's have 50mm Upper 54mm Lower.. I could be wrong though.. You should go rob him of them anyways ;), I think they'd look awesome on your Bandito..

sounds right however im picking up the yokes from the fabricator on friday and hes made redusers so they could be used with new 636 forks
not sure of size

noz any fabricator can make these fit r1 forks cost to make up redusers about 50,00
