Installing a bike dyno in toowoomba qld in conjuction with a mates bike shop, just wanted the general feeling from bike owners in that area and some insight on this being the only dyno in the toowoomba district.Does anyone work closely with a dyno or no someone who does with some idea on the weekly demand on these services.Cheers.

A mate has Petes Pitstop near Gympie , i think from what he says he is lucky he already owned it before moving to the area as its a little too far Brissy to be real busy , but he does specialise in turbo suzuki's and reflashing ecu's and gets extra business from quite a distance because of this.

I've always used Startline at Slacks Creek for my Dyno needs but haven't in yrs.

I have family in Toowoomba though so if the price and job were on the money I'd get it done there and visit them at the same time...

I was taking mine to pro kwaka ipswich and was about 80 bucks for 3 power runs last time i had mine done.

curious too as to which shop it is going in as i will be ready with my blade in around a month

Yeah $30 for a run would be fine depending on the amount of buiseness, this place is a dealership but ill be seperate from the bike shop just leasing a space but my price's will similar,It all depends on demand.

I know that Dalby Moto has one but i think they aim it more for the dirt bikes.....
I think if the word got around that you had one at a competitive rate it would go alright, i guess you want to have the accessories or something to do with the bike after it has been run on the dyno other wise there won't be a lot of incentive to do it........
but feel free to shoot me down in flames :D

Yes i will have accessories targeting streetfighter stuff mainly,it will be things like trick bits and mod stuff not commonly kept on the shelf but one thing at a time, and yes im aware of dalby moto and with the roads out there you need a trail bike just to get to the shop lol.The main thing for me is creating a service on customer needs and demand but one things for sure all ASF members will recieve a discount, cheers.

A good way to get the word around is to hold Dyno days/horse power comps.... Get onto ALL the clubs in your area and tell them about it.. Run a HP comp for each group then have a best of the best final... That will get people spending money on upgrades too, because they got beat by someone and will want to beat them next time....

What dyno are you getting?

Don't be afraid to invite some of the Brisbane based groups either. As you know riding up the back way via esk somerset crows nest is a nice enjoyable ride so You'd have plenty of takers from down here I'm sure...

I had my bike in at skips performance recently, he ran my bike on the dyno, changed the jets(GS1000 with draw through turbo set up. ie one carb that hangs of the side) then he ran it on the dyno again made a few adjustments and charged me $150 a run and $100 labour total of $400. So for $30 a run I wont mind running my bikes up to Toowoomba.

I thought he charged $150 for the first hour then $100 each hour following.....$150 for one run is massively excessive.

Thats what I was led to believe when I dropped it off, Iwas all so told it would be a week, maybe two. It turned out to be just under 9 weeks. When i turned up to pick it had two flat tyres a flat battery and about an inch of dust all over it, not to mention the shoe that was burn't, stuck and basically fucked up the chrome on my super rare nos ATP banana pipe. He wasn't there and the shop girl had no access to tools, I was left to jump start it and limp to the nearest servo, allways fun on big fat turbo'd 79 model bike that has zero kays on it after a $11000 restoration, that tend to run like shit with a flat battery, that if you stall it your fucked etc etc. The $400 bill was just the icing on the cake. At least he didn't drop it and flatten the left hand side like the mechanic that had it before him did.
