Could someone clarify the mods for the ZX9-R B1 model ram air and clean air systems
To do away with the ram air: Join the two tubes under the air box coming from the carbs with a T piece into the airbox .
To do away with the clean air valve under the airbox: Join the two tubes from the reed valve covers with a t piece to the crank breather tube which runs up between the carbs and currently plugs into the back of the airbox. Plug the hole that's left in the back of the airbox to seal it.
Before I make an arse of this , is this the right sequence of events ?

You don't need to join the reed valve ports together or to the breather tube, just block them off completely & leave the crankcase breather untouched.

Can I use a small gauze filter for the crank breather instead of joining it to the reed valve tubes ? As long as I block off the airbox hole that is

You can, but the thing about connecting the breather to the clean air ports is that it creates a vaccum in the crankcases which (supposedly) helps the crank spin up easier = better throttle response / extra HP.

And it's free.....OK, except for some hose and a T piece....
