So where are all the members [?] We have 26 pages of members, 25 members per page.....so thats er....around 650 in all !:)! (yeah I know not all still users) Yet so far from the count (Iceman still waiting for 77 ??) we have da da da daaaaahhhhhh 36 paid up ?[V]?

I have been looking at site costs and, correct me if I'm wrong Gix, but this site is now around $1500 a year ![:0]!![:0]!! And who do you all think pays for it ????...The same bloke that has since it was started.....Same bloke who organises the calendars (and puts up the cash) and the T's and the beanies......

So what does he ask for ?? A mere $20 towards the running costs. Not even the cost of a slab.[:I]

And, No this $20 doesn't include a sticker or a cloth patch...they all cost money, but it does give us a private area for whatever we want to discuss/sell etc.

I was prepared to put up and organise the patches but as 200 will cost around $5.00 each, I would be seriously out of pocket going by the immense response to a request for a membership fee (that everyone said yes to when it was raised..)

I will price up 100 patches and even 50 but may well be asking for cash up front so as to be guaranteed the return.

Don't we all owe it to Gix to help when he asks......None of us would be here if he hadn't got off his butt and started the site........Now its our turn to do the same for him.

I realise there are alot of people helping out with stuff but there are a hell of a lot more doing nuthin.[xx(]

Hey Sharky, just wondering how you come up with 36 people paid up?

chopaweeza
28-11-2006, 08:39 PM
As a committee member of Chopper Builders Australia I'm please that we upped the size annual contribution to this site. This site contributes much to the advancement of the cause of modified motorcycles in Australia and as such we have contributed for the last 2 years to ASF. Like alot of good things it's a case of support it or it leaves. As websites increase in traffic so do their fees associated with them. As the demand increases so do the bills and it is unfair for one man to shoulder the burden alone. I hope that this site will become self sufficient as it would be a shame for such a valuable resource to disappear.

I'm surprised people missed the post, especially Fimp. I get the feeling people are not taking advantage of the ACTIVE TOPICS link at the top right of the page. Phill, just for the record - The Fool Run's full title is "THE APRIL FOOLS RUN" - meaning it's on the weekend of (or closest weekend to) APRIL FOOLS DAY (1st April). If you get around to getting a calendar later on it's in big print on that so there's no way you'll miss it! This year it is the weekend of the 31st March and 1st April.

Sorry, I know this is an old topic thats now been bumped.....

Just wanted to say something about the membership thing..... having run a large forum myself, I know it aint cheap money wise.... but moreover, the time involved in getting it firing up and then growing is PHENOMINAL....... hats of to all the boys that help make this thing work, and as far as a full membership fee goes, if I thought the members of my particular forum would have paid, I would have done it....

Its unfortunate, but most guys think this stuff just appears on the net, and wouldnt think twice(obviously) about supporting the person who put it together....

I joined, and I paid up quickly, cause I know what it takes.....

Instead of buying that new sticker for your far-from-finished-and-probly-never-will-be-fighter, why dont you invest in the future of the SF movement worldwide..... thats what it really is....

Pull out your wallets, and prove you're truly a part of the streetfighter movement worldwide....

If you've got the balls to strap on a turbo, or nitrous, then you've got the balls to pay your dues..... keep the site running forever.... support those that support you.....

Just my 2 cents.... soz.... now back to your regularly scheduled topic.....

sharky

Time to drag up an old one.....
