Undersump shorty or stock?

Hi all, just after some advice. Due to having an ugly 4-1 collector, ive been thinking of taking my Yoshi RS3, having it "shortened" and having the exhaust mounted under the sump. (while my PC3 is installed and bike tuned)

What would this to do to backpressure? noise? power? If its anything like a "diff dumping" exhaust on a v8 ute, i'd expect it to be a wee bit louder.

Just after a yay / nay and some advice for a young fighter-builder. If popular opinion dictates, ill be sure to video document the change in tone & power.

If you were gunna do it that way, I reckon it'd look better running the length of under the bike, and turning the tip outwards just in front of the rear wheel.. that's just my 2c though ;)

I agree with sen... Mounting the can that close to the headers will fuck ur power deliver & back pressure I believe! Not to mention fucking ur ground clearance...
As u can see I have a slash cut mounted to my rear set on my 7/11 n that is obscenely loud (granted it also has no baffles but still)

I also lost a bit of back pressure but nothing to serious...

Good question Ben. Ive been tempted to try that too but keeping the pipe as long as possible, maybe with an s bend?

Thats a fucking great idea, i like it, its ok, could be done better, not really my thing, i dont like it, FUCKING GHEY.... :D

If you are after outright power DONT put the can under the bike, rule of thumb is you need 12 to 13 inches of pipe from the collector to make power. RULE OF THUMB.... It doesn't always work this way and you can tune around what ever you do anyway.

Less backpressure, more noise, less power, more likely to bottom out (hehe) but fuck it man its your bike do what you want to it.

Thanks for that guys. How hard is it to change the subframe to put an '07ish R1 arse end on it? Im also partial to the undertail exhaust look. Im pretty good with my hands, and dads been an Instro Tech for the last 400 years, so alterations shouldnt be too hard. Just wanting to know if its gonna be a:

plug-n-play / difficult / buy an r1 (its easier) job?

I have no idea which is best but I plan on doing something similar to the new one when I get to picking it up from Mackay. THing is if you can tune it to suitwho cares? Short and loud as fuck. Make sure the cunts hear you coming...
