yep that would be good alfie but id like to keep a honda lump in it if poss my resources are limited so im doing all the machining myself on this one and farming out what i cant do , got a good deal on the pwder coating $110 for me wheels and swing arm.................all my previous experience with building is mainly 2 strokes getting old horrible 70 s stuff to stay upright[ an old GT550 suzie cost me alump out of my left arm]the only 4 strokes ive done are minor work to my old Z650 and doing a rickman job on the XS750 i used to own [see im a glutton for punishment] my ideal would be to do a radical job on a RG 500 maybe Sheene rep or a freaked out YPVS 500 i know a fair bit about Yam strokers

talkin of freaks that is a pukka bol dor somethin along those lines is what im looking for nice one m8

does anyone know if an 1100r engine is worth sourcing or how much extra power u can get from these old engones ..i know they had a rep for being fragile

Fragile you could sneez next to the buggers and vibration would make the cam chain snap and the valves drop.
Keeping it powered by a honda engine if you do get a hold of an old 1100r motor replace the valve drive gubbins, camchain and tensioner i would use an APE billet one, stainless valves with orient express springs titanium retainers and collets atleast then the engine will last wont be no more powerfull than a standard motor but then it wont self destruct either. I know of 3 1100r's that the engines had destroyed there selves because of the standard valve drive gubbins failed or parts of it failed causing complete melt down.
Or you could go for a CB1 engine powerfull and reliable but then you will have to stick a radiator somewhere.
damn that watercooling thing. I dont know of anyother big capacity air cooled honda engine that was not fragile they all had reputations of camchain destruction but when they went watercooled they seemed to become reliable overnight
