4.5" Gsxr rear end. Dunlop qualifier 160/60 is closer to a 170. Not as easy a fitment as I had been told.

Had to cut back the foot peg mount and diegrind the frame plate for clearence with the off set sprocket.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255252826.jpg

Offset sprocket machined and welded by a fitter and turner mate.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255198987.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255238685.jpg

Had to cut 15mm out of the swingarm front brace for tyre clearence.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255242749.jpg

Brake stay runs super close too.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255200267.jpg

Runs close to shock, how anyone gets a 180 tyre in a standard arm is beyond me.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255219741.jpg

Had to die grind the inside of the front sprocket cover, chain just catches it.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255236926.jpg

Right side all buttoned up, had to change muffler link pipe. Am planning on making my own headers down the track anyway.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255224273.jpg

Left side just have to make up chain guard (it's half done). Lost about an inch of height. will have to go to 350mm shocks from 330's at some point to quicken the steering back up.
http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1255274417.jpg

Finally the right width tyre under one of these. Had to make spacers for either side of the wheel.

Well bugger me, I thought you could get a 5.5" & 180 in a stock GSX swinger but by the look of these pics, you'd hafta have it all the way back in the adjusters & it would probly still touch the insides.
Thanx Geoff, good write up.
Your mate did a good job on the sprocket too.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1264542784.jpg

Rearsets, from '88 GSXR750, new swingarm pivot bolt on the way will have to be shortened. Custom length shift rod. Side stand now fouls on gear lever, will move stand mount forwards approx 30mm. A lot of fucking around. but has made the bike easier to ride with the drag bars.

The newest addition has arrived, just got to get a few things made shiny again and get some specs from mr turbo and it will be on the old motor for set up and then go on to the new 1170 motor later in the year.
The only thing it didn't come with was the baffle for the exhaust, damn shame that.
Thanks again to TK for not buying it for himself and Ivan for the same.

Great looking GSX Freak.

A mate of mine had one when we were about 15, he used it as a tarilbike when a few of us would ride our old thupers around my oldies property. it had no can and he had no fear or brains. Back then it was cool, thinking back now- what a waste.

TURBO mock up. Finally I can set up oil/boost lines and work out5 where to put the oxygen sensor. Can't wait to get this happening, also have a fresh standard top end to go on. low boost on the standard bottom end tho. Big power will have to wait until welded crank.

FARK!!! That's what I want.

I love my ET, but want to keep it very "1980's".
Dont want 6-pot's, USD forks, Single sided arms etc.
I want it nasty but very much a bike thats stuck in its time,
(most folk dont notice the Busa master cylinder!)

I've ridden a few draw-trough bikes and they were not a patch
on modern injected stuff but I still want an original Mr Turbo kit.
Wont be for a while ($$:($$) but this threads porn to me!!

Top job, Love it....[8D]

Finally got the windowed clutch cover fitted, had to heat the makrolon with a hair dryer to shape it to the arc of the holes. did to holes myself, had to keep some ally in as bracing for the clutch pivot. I liked this design anyway as it's a bit different.
Also fitted:
GSX750 oil pump gears (higher ratio better oil supply for when the turbo goes on).
Brand new Clutch basket.
Polished and spray anodized pressure plate, we'll see how long the spray lasts.

It's off an FJ1100, if you look where the curve of the pan runs around the cases, it has to be this height. Going to cut some more out of the under side to clear the headers at the front so I can pull the bottom back to even up the line.

ozzy1100
10-04-2011, 09:35 PM
before u cut the back id have a look at it with just droping the front
sort of like what lance has done with his, i dont think ull see the extra space around the headers
a bit of both might work best :)

The mirrors are great! completely uninterrupted view and bugger all vibration. All I did was silicone the lenses as one was buzzing in the housing. Great for $50 off eBay.

Been awhile, here's the latest. had a leaking base gasket so the top has been off. made up external oil lines thanks to Deano, also thanks to Deano for chamfering the barrels, made them a doddle to fit. Polished cam cover and made tacho cable drive block off bung. Now to make sure it's oil tight.
