haven't been to vehicle auctions.

want to find something for a project over january, what are motorcycle auctions like anyone been?

what would i expect to pay for something like this

im guessing needs full front end replacement (which would be doing anyway) as checkout dent in the front wheel

Guesstimating auction prices is hard, just depends on how many <s>lebos</s> people show up on the day...

miniman's got it spot on , depends on how many lebos show up , but then again they usually only go for the 1000cc late model bikes , i wouldnt pay anymore than 2 for it

I purchased a '06 R1 off him a couple of months ago and it was all good.

Work out what you'd need to spend to get it where you want and work backwards from that ie. find out the redbook price for that model and year then minus what you'd have to spend to get it where you want to and the remaining is the max that you should bid for it.

anyone know how these insurance sales work? does the saleperson work for the insurance company, or do they buy them off insurance..?

It's a few years ago now, but the ZX9 I picked up at Fowles was pretty cheap as all the <s>Lebs</s> punters were overbidding on the GSXR's and R1's.
