Hybrid929RR

Hi Guys,

Havent checked in in a long time. I traded the blade I had for a 05 Hayabusa. Here is a pic of the blade to refresh your memory, it was featured in Streetfighters Magazine issue 170.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/CBR929RR%20Pics/Hybrid929RR.jpg

I am posting my build thread from another forum, so some of it might not make sense to some.

Ok Guys,

I am Uk Lee's friend, Tom from the States, I am on another forum called customfighters.com and I decided to post my build here to see what you guys think so far. This is straight from my other build thread, so some of it might not make sense. Opinions welcome.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/boosa6.jpg

I will be taking off the PIAA lights and putting a 7" round headlight on it:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/headlight.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/headlightwithbikinifairing3.jpg

then I will be putting a SV650 bikini fairing on it:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/bikinifairing1.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/bikinifairing2.jpg

to make a look like this:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/headlightwithbikinifairing1.jpg

And then I am thinking about putting a Kwak 636 tail and subby on it with underseat exhaust. Here are some pics of the seat plastic:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/636tail1.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/636tail2.jpg

not too sure about the seat unit yet, may go with at gixxer thou, but not sure, we will see what happens after mock up.

I am sure there will be alot more to come once I get the bike in my hands.

Until then!!!

here is a shitty photochop of some possible plans.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/636boosa2.jpg

ok guys, I have made my final decision on the headlight, it will be the z1000. If anyone has one they want to sell, please PM me. Here is a photochop of the bike with the light on it.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/636boosa4.jpg

Ok, finally got some time to D some W!! not a whole lot, drilled the bolts out of the top clamp and removed the ignition. then I cut the loop off the top of the ignition, made a bracket, and mounted the acewell there.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0859.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0860.jpg

Fabbed up a couple of little brackets to hold the temporary light.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0861.jpg

Then i moved the ignition down beside the sprocket cover. Dont worry the coolant bottle will be the next thing I do.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0862.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0863.jpg

Finally got the rear end together, and it will be fabbed to the bike soon.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0864.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0865.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0866.jpg

Next I am bidding on a triumph 955 single sided swinger and wheel to put on it.

Got my new headlight. I wanted the z1000 lamp, but I could not find one. Here are some pics of the new light. Puts out 60 watts of light.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0919.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0920.jpg

Then I got a chance to D some W, so I got to choppin the subby up. It is only mocked up right now, but it was almost like it was made for this bike!!

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0921.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0922.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN0923.jpg

Just scored a used Boz Broz 4-2-1 slash cut full exhaust system from Roaring Toyz for $300

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Pipe1.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Pipe2.jpg

a little cleaning up, and it should be a nice pipe, but now I have to get me a power commander, shit, there goes more money!!

Just scored a couple of things off ebay, $100 for both, I think that was a deal.

First off we have a Front Brake Master Cylinder for a 04 05 CBR 1000

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Clutch2.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Clutch3.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Clutch1.jpg

Then we have a matching Clutch Master Cylinder from a 04 05 CBR 1000:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Master2.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Master1.jpg

These should clean up the bars a bit and help me get rid of those ugly block boOsa Master cylinders. Next up is some Stainless brake lines.

Also forgot, I just got some mini resi's for the clutch and brake.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/MiniRes.jpg

These are the actual paint colours I am going with:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Silverpaint.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Redpaint.jpg

Got a chance to D some W!!! Had time to do some polishing on the unpolished stainless steel header.

Before:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN1127.jpg

After:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/DSCN1128.jpg

Alright people, I know it has been a while since the last post, but my friend Randy has been backed up on work, so I have been waiting and now is my turn. Hopefully we will have alot of the subframe work buttoned up tomorrow, so I will post pics of that when I get them.

I mounted the CBR1000 Clutch and Brake mastercylinders and the anodized levers and the HEL lines.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/utf-8BSU1HMDAwMjMtMjAwOTA1MzAtMjMzM.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/utf-8BSU1HMDAwMjItMjAwOTA1MzAtMjMzM.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/utf-8BSU1HMDAwMjEtMjAwOTA1MzAtMjMyO.jpg

Randy and I have fabbed up some coolant hardlines:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/utf-8BSU1HMDAwMTktMjAwOTA1MzAtMTkzN.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/utf-8BSU1HMDAwMjAtMjAwOTA1MzAtMTkzN.jpg

And I have decided that when Randy is finished, I will pull the whole bike part and smooth the frame, swinger, subby, and rims and powdercoat them satin black.

In the mean time, I have these on the way:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Rearset2.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Rearset3.jpg

This is some of the new parts connecting the new subby to the old subby.

This is a pic with the seat cowl level with the tank.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/IMG00114-20090627-1525.jpg

Ok, got the lower supports made and welded on

Side shot with supports -- No more holding it up with screwdrivers or allen wrenches!!

And the undeside of the subby:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Undesidesubby.jpg

Had a chance to get some 4th of July DW (do work), dont worry, I will be re routing the ss brake lines.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/hedli.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Lside.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Fullside.jpg

Got some time to do a little more W. Did a little cut n shut on the wiring harness, re arranged some of the routes some or the control wires took, made a battery box and located it under the tank along with the starter solenoid, lengthened some wires, shortened some others. Here are a couple of pics:
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/batterybox.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/l_56cbe1451077442ca3fdbcd0b2f8ffe5.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/cutnshut.jpg

On Hayabusa.org, a guy said that he was concerned about me carrying a passenger. I told him it is a one person bike, but Randy, the guy who built the subby wanted to show him he had nothing to worry about!!

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/randy1.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/randy2.jpg

Ok, time for some more DW update pics.

First we have the completed Battery box, shortened wiring harness, and the relocated fuse box:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/completedwiringharnessandbatterybox.jpg

Then we have the new rearsets mounted:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/lftsiderearset.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Rgtsiderearsetmounted.jpg

And then I relocated the ignition switch.

First, the through the frame Shock bolt access hole:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Shockboltaccessholebefore.jpg

Then after a little modification:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Shockaccessholeturnedintoignitionho.jpg

Now we have a new Coolant reservior, not too sure about it tho still needs the welds cleaned up:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/reservior.jpg

and the profile:

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/reserviorprofile.jpg

The first pic looks a little odd, the pic was taken at a wierd angle.

Well, I got the bike home yesterday, so I decided to DW!! I swapped out engine bolts for anodized ones, removed the factory header, removed the pair system, installed Pair block off plates, and installed the header and boy is it pretty!! All I have to do is make a hanger bracket.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Exhaust1.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/Exhaust2-1.jpg

Thought I would give you a pipe sound clip

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/th_VID00002-20090810-10451.jpg (http://s174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/?action=view&current=VID00002-20090810-10451.flv)

Ok guys n gals, got some time to DW. First off I installed the 03 GSXR750 front end into the boOsa's clamps:

http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3671/gsxr750frtendinstalled.jpg (http://img440.imageshack.us/i/gsxr750frtendinstalled.jpg/)

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9400/gsxr750frtendsideshot.jpg (http://img148.imageshack.us/i/gsxr750frtendsideshot.jpg/)

Then I got the new Michelin Power Pilot tire installed for a whopping $10.

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/8207/newmichelinpowerpilotin.jpg (http://img148.imageshack.us/i/newmichelinpowerpilotin.jpg/)

Then I cleaned all of the grease and shit off of the sprocket, cush drive, and rim, then installed my red anodized sprocket nuts:

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4148/newanodizedsproketbolts.jpg (http://img148.imageshack.us/i/newanodizedsproketbolts.jpg/)

http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/9982/cleaneduprearwheelcushd.jpg (http://img508.imageshack.us/i/cleaneduprearwheelcushd.jpg/)

Well, as money has run out and time is short for me to have it rideable by the first of october, I cannot get the frame, swinger, and wheels powdercoated, so I have resorted to the old stand by.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/FrtWheelPolishing.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/RearWheelPolishing.jpg

and a little teaser

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/Hybrid929RR/FramePolishing.jpg

I am waiting to see how the red paint goes with the polish as to whether I powdercoat the frame and stuff.

I have a GSXR750 muddy to go on there. As for the Swinger, I am leaning toward narrowing a triumph swinger and slapping it in there, but that mod is in the future. I havent been able to ride since November of 08, so I am going to get this thing rolling and then start the process of the SSSA over the winter.

OK, I was gonna make you guys and gals wait, but here is her Paint!!

First off is my tank and the paint frame I built.

A close up of the tank

The strip looks crooked because of the bends in the tank, but dont worry it is straight

Looks the goods mate, good choice on colour. Constructive criticism: Tail up about 5 inches and sort the right hand side radiator hose so it comes out the back of the radiator. Where are the ram air covers from?

Ram air covers are from a company called "Big Bike" out of Germany.

Yeah, I will be moving it a bit higher, I made the mistake of fabbing the subby with the tank level to the top of the cowl, not the top of the tail.

Top job,you should p/coat the frame/arm in black IMO.I would also put aluminium black mash covering the entrance of ram air scoop covers.Stick to the original busa arm as it can take alot of punishment,my busa was turbod and it worked fine and took all the shit I threw at it.Once again nice job man!!
