ye i went to repco they had the small starter kit and 300chopped mat, really just looking to get some to do bit of fiddling having really got a particular job for it thought about making a pillion seat cowl just as a bit of a project.so gelcoat and resin are 2 different parts? but you really only need gelcoat if your going to make a mould?

find a marine supplies place, they have glass, resin and gel coat cheaper than any car places.

ended up just getting a small kit so i can have abit of a fiddle around rather then jump into making something massive and wasting a shit load.

hit ebay mate ,its heaps cheaper and u dont get a lot of crap u dont need like in the kits ,try a company called composite supplies they did good business for me

Check your local yellow pages book or online, look for the more industrial type, marine or automotive, they will be heaps cheaper than chain stores. You can buy various grades of cloth by the metre, and 4 litre quantities of polyester or epoxy (epoxy is stronger) for not much more than 1/4 litre pot kits.And they stock all the other shit you need to lay up.

speaking from experience fibre glass kits are a waste of money where in western syd are you needing to look?
Try looking in white pages under fibre glass supplies there are heaps in western sydney like the one below,
