Not my bike, but one I just finished painting. 89 GSXR1100. I was given the Iron Man as a basic theme to work with. had a lot of artistic license. First bike I've done in Australia. Let me know what you think.

Thanks!
I've got a pile of other pics. Here's one from the front and one from the back. Also another from the side...maybe a clearer over all view.

Bike is presently in its owner's hands. He tells me he's got plans for new pipes and windscreen, but first on the list is to get the wheels re-done. When that gets done I'll be getting some more pics.

Thanks for that. I had a lot of fun doing this one. Great theme to work with.
As for why...Great colours, flashy, head turning...you pick. I'm glad that you say it's not your cup of tea. I was going for something custom, and to me, custom means that the owner loves it, cause it suits his taste. If everyone loved it, it wouldn't be as personal I don't think. In the end, if the owner is happy, I'm happy.

That's some nice work there, mate... I like the whole 'theme-without-actually-showing-or-putting-the-name-on-there' thing... If it had little ironmen, or his face, or 'IRONMAN' on the tank, I think it'd be too cheezy...
However, I must admit I was disappointed to see you didn't turn the fuel cap into his chest cannon thing... [:p]
I wish i could do something like this to my bike... but i don't even wash it, so it'd end up cactus in a month... [xx(]

Thanks Holyman... Funny you should say that. The bike's owner and I talked about some ideas for the design, and as I was prepping and priming, the design was settled to be the reds and yellows that you see, with GSXR1100 done in the Iron Man font along the fairing, with a picture of the Iron man on the lower part of each fairing. Once I got started with the shading, I finished up the rear panels, and sent him the pictures, he decided against the portrait for the same reasons you stated. I called the original design "smack in the face with the theme".
As for the chest connon gas cap, good idea...I too thought of it, but only after I had put it all back together...
Hey...maybe we can paint your bike up to look dirty...that way, when people start razzing you for having such a filthy bike, you can explain that this is your idea of custom....Genius...I know.
Thanks for that.

Looks 10 fold better than the original (that was one of Suzuki's worst colour ways). I like your work mate, looks very sharp and professional. You'll do well. Hopefully a few guys from here may be able to use your services if your local to them.
I don't mean to tel you about any competition or anything but I'm sure you'll admire others artwork, check out Caleb's work. He's a local guy around here (a real good bloke to talk to as well) and his work just blows me away, I'm sure you'll appreciate it:

My daily firestorm is following the Iron Man theme (red, gold wheels, gold belly pan).. I was also thinking of doing a blue light-up fuel filler.. somehow.. or even a blue angel-eyes style ring around the haedlight.. it's a fun theme, the red & gold look awesome together.. but I agree, any branding/characters would've ruined the above.. so good choice!

I would love to see this bike in the flesh. Nice art work mate.
Not my kind of thing, but can certainly appreciate the work and skill involved. Nice work.

Thanks Everyone. Gix...Caleb's work is awesome. Love the attention to detail.
I should have mentioned...I am in Sydney. The bike is in getting the rims done as we speak, but it should be cruising in or around the Cronulla area shortly.
