Hi guys, I've been a lurker for a while,& this is my first post.
I have a couple of 86 slabby 750's, one has a nice fresh engine and I was contemplating a small turbo. Any words of caution or advice would be appreciated.I am after a mild increase, as reliability is important ( it's my daily ride)
How much power wil a stock 750 motor/gearbox take before reliability is compromised?
Where is the best place to pick up an oil feed and return?
Is there a rule of thumb for boost:compression ratio?
How much boost can I run on standard compression?
Am I likely to run into overheating problems?
Any other issues I may not have mentioned?

.I have a miniscule budget but I do pretty much all of my own work (welding , machining and fabrication)
Thanks

I found the "search" button.... "DUH"....found enough info to help.
Thanks to all who responded

put an 1100 in it, it'll probably be less fucking around

Or a Bandit 1200. Newer and easier to find than the 1100's

Last time I was at the drags, I outran a 1200 Bandit, so I'm guessing that a Bandit motor is gonna need a bit of work anyway.

i had a bandit motor in my 750 and it went 10.34 ... pretty good considering the stock 750 dunger would struggle to run a 12

i think you're forgetting to take into account the size and weight of the 750 compared with the bandit... Also, I've outrun bigger faster bikes on my 750, hell, i've beaten people on my ol' 250 but that's because they couldn't ride. ;) i'll definately be going down the bandit path when my old girl shits herself... :D

I'm doing 10.60's on my stock slabby 750. But 10.34 is still good with the bandit engine.

That's quite a fair point on both counts, I did manage to run an 11.93 in street trim (tall gears), not particularly quick, I know, but good fer what it is.
Still I don't have me a bandit motor or an 1100 for that matter, all I got is 2 x 750's, a spare turbo, a workshop and hand skills, so I'm gonna have to make do.
