As some of you know i will be moving to South Australia soon and bringing my gsxr1216 with me.
It has just crossed my mind that the vin plate or compliance plate as it is known has been removed from my bike because I polished the frame I still have it stuck under the seat on the frame cross member.
Is this going to be a major problem for me because the plate is not where suzuki intended it to be.
Am i likely to run into trouble with the Aussie customs and excise bods does any one know or am i worrying about nothing :)

I'm assuming you have got the 'personal import approval' ? As long as you still have the plate (even if you silicon it on the frame somewhere) you should be ok.

my katana doesnt have one

on the rego says it says "non-comply"
i think some older bikes have lost theres and there are ways around it

not sure how you would arrange it

couldnt u just rivet it onto the frame in its original position for rego?

as long as the compliance plate is fixed to a non removable section of the mainframe,it is cool. As for the non comp on the older bikes, this was allowed on pre 86 models but can be a hassle on later models.

Yep, plate just has to be somewhere solid.
