Hi guys, im posting this topic because my insurance is due and im changing insurance companies because of a recent dispute with QBE, basicly they refuse to pay 4 my repairs because i " left out a fine detail ", so im getting a refund.
Anyway i would like to hear member's opinions on who they think is the best insurance 4 motorcyclists like ourselves, not only will this help me out but will probably help out other members with there insuance choices to.

Thanx tony, just spent the last hour or so going ova the other insurance topics but im no better off than i was b4....insurance is a f*#king nightmare:(.
Here is my position
im 26
my bike is not garaged
i dont own a car
i ride every day
the bike not mod yet but will be shortly after insurance
its in smash repairs now n will be when i insure [ what effect will this have ]
i have a slight driving record[:I]
and QBE said had they known my full record they wouldnt have insured me and will not do so again
its in my loan contract that my bike be insured at all times, can anybody offer an insurance mob that would suit my situation.

Fizzgigg.

All I can add is rule out Shannon's.

They suit me, good value, dont mind mod's or a few points
but DON'T like it as a sole mean's of transport. I use mine to
work now and then but they are geared more to recreational riders
and not commuters.

Thats true Tony....but they will allow 'occasional' use to work if say the car breaks down....and as they don't ask for odometer readings they don't know what mileage you actually do.

I would try them but maybe leave out the 'still has damage' bit

Next best thing to Shannons (as far as I'm told) is INSURE MY RIDE.

Here's that list by the way: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15095

You can ask about the insurance company via the members listed.

If you just got stung by QBE for not disclosing all relevant info then it is probably not a good idea to try the same thing with another mob straight away.

In regards to insurance, honesty is always the best policy because you can take it for fact that these pricks try everything in their power to avoid paying a claim.

its part of my loan contract that it be insured at all times,
they demand to see the insurance policy.

Fizz they only ask for the cover note when you take out the loan initially. After that they won't. they can but don't generally. And why bother with crash repairs if your gonna fighter it?

If you're willing to forget a few things when speaking to the insurance companies, why does it matter about being so honest with the bank?

yeh i wish they hadnt, but they asked me the other day
to send them my new insurance policy as it is due on 21st,
and ive owned my bike only 1 year and it has been hit 4
times already, twice by mates, one reversed into it wit his
ute, the other ran up the back of me wit his gixxer, the other
2 by randoms, 1 of them decided to do a runner, so ive had
alot of bad luck with it.
anyway insure my ride turned out to be $1000 dearer than
swan, even after i lied to insure my ride n told em my bike
was garaged n alarmed n that i had 10 years of riding experience,
go figure???
more so, swan insure's ur riding gear automatically, while insuure
my ride expects u to pay extra.....puff puff...all done [xx(]
