View Full Version : Fighter Track Day?

Got a chance to go to Eastern Creek the other week and having trashed my track bike I took the fighter. It was actually a really good laugh. Whilst its slows a bit on the straight its superb if you can fly round the outside of somebody on their latest piece of litre plastic fantastic
It was talked about in Jan but never really got going but I'm thinking of taking it out again in September/October - if anyone else fancies it, let me know and I'll organize the spots.

Yeah - see the point was to make you feel like you were there on the track

More haste less speed. Anyway - come along it was a good laugh

Hey Rosco, Dan - mate weekdays are better I find. Less tools. You can go in the slow groups and there's space or in the fast groups there's less hero's - either way its better

I'll have a look for say Sep/Oct dates when i can get a day off and if you can too, lets get down there

Rosco - always on for a weekender ride. Mate just smashed his hyabusa up on bend on the old road so short of a ride - i did warn him. They don't have the word 'bus' in the middle for no reason

Sunday, 11th of October, 2009
Sunday, 25th of October, 2009
Saturday, 07th of November, 2009
Sunday, 08th of November, 2009

If you fancy any of them, let me know and I'll get it booked up

What groups you booked into - I'll see if I can get the pennies to go again that week?

rod185651

I booked myself in the slow group also. The TRX is pretty slow on the straight and my ordinary cornering skills slow me down on corners 2 and 9.

How much is it guys?
It's been a while since my last one, and I haven't done one with the new wheels and K3 front end.
Hey rod, I love turn 2, but I've alwats been slow through 9. I've seen 2 guys (on different occasions) bin it on that turn.

dave_isbald
02-09-2009, 04:02 PM
I'll book into that too and see you there.

Hey Chris, It cost me $209 bucks for Saturday. Yeah I reckon as soon as I sought out my line through the double apex on 2 it will set up turn three nicely. Does that make sense? Nice one Dave.

I should be there on the 10th as well. Won't be on the fighter though, will be on the 400.

I used to have a VFR 400. Awsome on the track. Got hammered by everyone else down the straight, but then would take most of them through the turns, and get through turn 12 first.
Then get hammered doen the straight again, and repeat.

as an addition i have also booked oran park on the 6th (wanted to get there before it closed)

its midweek so only $110 through champion ride days :D

I'm on a NC29 CBR. Complete pile of shit, but I'll probably be fast on it than the Gixxer, because I won't be worried about throwing it into the gravel.

I'm also hitting Oran on the 21st. Wanted to do the 6th but got work, fucken.

Take that back bitch, a NC29 still holds the 400 record at EC with a 1:41 so they can't be that bad :)

Do you have to have full leathers for a ride day or do they allow kevlar jeans? I'm guessing I'm gonna have to get a fuggin suit to join you guys. [V]

rod185651

At Eastern Creek you need at least two piece leathers that zip together mate, you can hire them if needed.

fimpBIKES
08-09-2009, 10:54 PM
you can hire suits through the peoples there (with forward notice)

two piece is ok as long as the pants zip on to jacket
no kevlar though...

dave_isbald

All booked in.

Last time I trashed the track bike I needed new leathers on the day and could still get them - i think it cost me $65

I'm sure they are. MY NC29 is a pile of shite. But that's the point, I can wring it's neck and if I stick it in the gravel and it won't matter.

I agree - I have R6 which I usually get down there on. I'm not sure if I get round there quicker than I can on my SF just cause its got a fairing and is a bit lighter or cause I really don't give a fuck if goes down the road on its arse.

Provide I survive of course

I just got this in an email, thought it was pretty funny

<center>10 Signs You Are Addicted To The Track</center>
1.
You are reluctant to remove your trackday wristbands, instead opting to leave them on until they disintegrate naturally;
2.
You can remove the indicators, taillights and mirrors from your road registered bike in less than one beer;
3.
Your Mastercard statement shows withdrawals from 'Champions' or 'Motorcycling Events Group Australia' more frequently than 'Coles Meyer' or 'Woolworths';
4.
Your calander is marked with 'PI', 'Broadford', and 'CSS' but not with 'Mum's Bday';
5.
You move interstate for better track options
6.
Your idea of a celebrity is your Superbike School Coach;
7.
You believe Keith Code is God incarnate;
8.
You find it incredulous that people hold engagement parties on the weekend of MotoGP;
9.
You go through the five stages of mourning after leaving the track:
*
Denial - "It's okay, I'll be back soon enough"
*
Anger - "God Damn why do Trackdays have to be so freakin expensive!"
*
Bargaining - "Maybe if I move things around I can afford another Trackday next week..."
*
Depression - "S**t. It's gonna be at least 3 weeks before I ride again."
*
Acceptance - "At Least it'll be warmer then, and at least it's not QR"
10.
You Spend an hour of your life you'll never get back writing up "Ten Signs You Rae Addicted To The Track."

Hey guys, given Chris is currently 'otherwise indisposed', he's asked me to put the word out that his track day is for sale (Sat 10th Oct). If you're interested or know anyone who is, let me know or give Chris a yell if you have his number. Highest bidder wins, folks.

Mish

Hey Mish, if Chris can't get a buyer he is entitled to reschedule or cancel his booking as long as there is more than one week (7 days) notice prior to the event, less a $25 processing fee per event booked. Just got that of their website.

Thanks Rod, that's great news! Will give it a few more days and see if there's any interest, otherwise will definitely take that option. Thanks again :)

Went out to EC yesterday and in between it pissing down, got a few laps in. Had a brilliant time.

I think my EXUP valve is sticking as it seems to be a bit sluggish accelerating. But either way its still a good time in the corners.

Whats your mobile number Rod? I'll send you a text when I get there and see what garage you're in
