What did you have in mind ?

This came up in Harry's thread...
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15427&whichpage=15

and someone else I know is looking into it.

Dont know anyone who specialises in it, but If you had a spare spline it should be possible to knock up something like this guy
did and set the offset to suit by machining it down or building
it up (wouldn't it ?)

Chain gang will make up to a 1 inch ofset, cost $250 each though. What bike is it for?

I heard on the grapevine that Chaingang are not gonna be making any new sprockets due to BHP / Bluescope (or whoever the hell they are these days) not producing the steel they make them out of anymore.
They need to source some other company that can provide the same quality stuff.

Dunno how true the buzz is though......

I made my own for my Katana. Used 2 sprokets. Used an old output shaft and to line them up. Turned one down to clear the chain. Put both on the spline and welded them together. After it cooled I put it back in the lathe and recessed it. Piece of piss. Not 250 beer tokens worth of work. Worked out the same as the link Tony posted.

Top job Kev...[8D]

Pretty much what someone else i know is doing, only difference is
he's going getting the back of the old sprocket machined down a couple of mm to be spot on.

Like your work...[8D]

Talk to Ben - Extreme Creations, he has a number of them. I will be getting mine off him for the 240 kit on the Busa.

Cheers,

Matt

Tried ringing chain gang last week during business hours, no answer, left a message on their machine. Still haven't heard back from the slack arses. So it will be afam for me.

Also Check other models in the manufacturers line up, some may have a stock dished or offset sprocket.
I've used early ZZR1100 sprockets on the Z's and CBX1000 on Boldors

In an idea world, someone would have done another of
those "what-fits-what" lists. Which splines are the
same and which bike has what off-set.

GSXR 600-750 K1-K9, GSXR 1000 K1 - K8 , Busa 99-07, all GSXR 1100, & all bandit 1200, ZX10R, ZX9R, ZX7R,& many more use the same spline sprocket, at worst you may need a couple of washers as spacers.
