Im looking for something different for the bike and I was wondering if anyone has seen bikes painted in hammerite paint or similar. brainstorming some ideas to continue my cheap-arse customizing

I'm going to do part of the frame in silver hammer finish tomorrow maybe, just to cover up some scratches on the frame from the previous owner. did a test piece, looks ok and if I mask it up well enough can do it without pulling it all apart. I've done some of the bits of the bike in hammertone gunmetal, and will do some more of it in that as well. as for the body work, I'm not sure it would look right, and decals wouldn't go on properly cos of the texture. I've got a tin of spray chief scarlet paint Ive had in the shed for about 10 years, unopened. needs a black base, its acrylic. I like the glad wrap finish idea, was considering doing that, using silver, but using aluminium foil instead. or maybe bubble wrap? that could look interesting. I'll have to do some tests i guess

I can't remember what his name was, but it was the dude who bought Ben's bitza.

My old flatmate had a steel blue hammer finished tank on his 400/4 and it was looked good. The nice thing was it came straight out of the can and looked like a professional finish

did you use aerosols or do it properly? its a cool look. I wonder what using foil does? the black and silver is one of the options I was considering.
