After the sale in parts of my B12, her indoors got it in her head i was gonna spend the cash on a new kitchen this summer. I got draged around B&Q and Ikea all day saturday looking at fuckin trendy kitchens, cookers and fridges. While she who must be obeyed was getting moist over silent closing draws and extractor hoods my mind was on single sided swingarms and radial calipers :D
I cant wait to see her little face when i take charge of another Blade on Monday[}:)]
Ive done a deal with a fella out in Barcelona thru a mate to take his mint fightered Blade off his hands for not alot of money. His brother-in-laws bringing it back to england in his fruit n veg van on sunday coming. The bike aint been used in 3 years since he emergrated out to Spain but he kept up the polishing. Ive seen the bike at shows n stuff, it aint me cuppa tea style wise but worth buying just for the goodys on it. The motors been tuned by PDQ, a full Akrapovic exhaust system, PFM 6 pots and narrow track discs.Ohlins rear shock and fork internals The frame, forks, swinger and wheels are polished. Its has a 1st generation R1 seat unit grafted on and the bodyworks been muraled with white stalions running thru the sea all over it as in the Guinness adverts of old but it looks more Walt Disney to me. I'll post fotos of the paint on here just before i take a can of the finest MATT BLACK to it. I cant wait to get my greasey mits on it. Its been keeping me awake since i struck the deal and i feel like a kid waiting for xmas. Ive already got a game plan in my head and know exactly how the end results gonna turn out like. Normally when i build bikes i have a good idea and then that evolves as the bike starts coming together and thing change. This fuckers set in stone.
VFR arm with car wheel, 929 front end with fuck off yokes, R6 seat unit .....I cant wait... im gonna burst :D:D

Yeah Larry at PDQ's a top man, been in the game since God was knee high. He knows is onions alright.
With the bodywork....i could put it on ebay as theres a chance someone with no taste or blind even might like it. TBH it will sell just for the body parts not for the paint unless someones building a GAYBLADE[:I]

Ive read thru a few members posts ref the VFR swap. It looks a piece o piss with just a spacer needed and a rear sprocket +2 teeth. I will be picking folks brains tho ref the car wheel swap tho.

I still think he looked like the bloke from the Green Cross Code ad !

Last time I saw him i'd been down to pick up a NOS kit from a shop
that I wont mention, who'd unpacked my kit (they wanted to keep the box!)
they'd lost the instructions, and couldnt find a bottle bracket (offered me a
tatty bracket and said they'd photocopy and post some instructions if they found any.

I walked out and went to see him.
Better price, lots of advise, choice of bottles,
and he gave me a free 2.5lb "fill" to start me off.

Used to do some trick V-Max's too.

You know every time i see him i think the same fella :D But i wouldnt tell him that coz he aint exactly small.

PDQ still do alot of work on the V-Max's. The Spondon framed GRIZZLY was in there last time round and theres their mono-coqued frame hub center steered Max as a centerpiece.

That trick, ugly hub centered bike has never turned a wheel! They ran out of development money! The shocks on it are empty cases. Virtually every thing on it has been machined up one off like that dreadnought fzr if you've ever seen it. Nomean about green cross code though! Certainly knows his way round a max! I see mark reads bike up there a while ago which is uber nice!
I'm gunna be attacking my rrw blade with an anglegrinder soon so will start a thread in the near future.

You aint far wrong mate [:I]
Its probably the only part of the bike that dont need a complete fuckin overhaul[V] The bikes a non runner. I spent fuckin ages trying to get the twat running, i could only get it to spin over by bridging out the starter solonoid,The loom is a complete bodge job. No lives at the coils, the only live at the fusebox is to the fan fuse. No idiot lights or fuck all :(
Then my mate Steve tells me the score to start it.
1) take it off the sidestand
2) press remote button twice
3) turn on ignition
4) pull in clutch
5) hit the start button
He also tells me that the idiot lights were never wired in, the rev counter dont work and only one light works .....FFS [V]

So today im all excited thinking i'll have the fucker running, goes thru the 5 point start sequence and guess what.... FUCK ALL :(:(
Im off the next couple of days so will grab hold of a manual and see if i can get to the bottom of this ringer [:o)]

Ive got my eye on a near standard blade fitted with renthals n twin spots on ebay for £1000 or best offer. Its in deepest darkest Wales about 125 miles away from me in london. But it looks in good nick, 24k on the clock for a 15year old bike and its tax n tested. Its £500 cheaper than this ringer so will give me more spondooleys for trick bits

Got it running yesterday, the ignition switch the sidestand and clutch switch are fucked. Once i bridged out the ignition switch i got lives at the fuse box and coils but it wouldnt crank. Bridge out the sidestand and clutch switches and hey presto. It fired and rattled into life [V] Mmmmmm checks the oil level.....zilch [?] I chucked in a few ltrs of oil and tried again. The motor rattles regardless......This Blades headed for the knackers yard, thank fuck i didnt pay up front for it on good faith hey !!!!!!!
Im off to north Londondon this afternoon to check out an unmolested Blade ......part 2 coming soon

The VFR arms in a treat, used the Blade triangle plates which jacks the bike up about 50mm. Problem #1 the 916 wheels 6" and needs spacing to clear the inside of the arm. With the spacers fitted i cant fit the split pin to secure the central wheel nut [V]Ive either gotta try a Triumph wheel (maybe a different offset) to match the hub or get a 916 hub to match the wheel[?][?][?] The easiest solution it to revert back to VFR hub and wheel. This is the more likely option as i do want to go the car wheel route at a later date. Plus my mate Dan down at JUSTMOTORCYCLES has got a 2006 R1 front end with a 5 spoke front hoop that will go a treat in the old FireBucket.
The R6 seat unit dont cut the mustard with me so ive been rooting around and scratchin me bonce..... theres a few German seat units i like but with the pound being flat on its arse against the Euro i need to go down the production route....Z Butt, flat tracker, CBR 6 and have finally settled on the Triumph 675 race unit. Ill get some fotos up as and when the British weather sorts itself out [8D]

lookin the bollocks Jim.

Just for the record matey, it was Niel, Frank and Michael that pointed me in the right direction on the car wheel, all I did was put together the information they gave me and put pen to paper. Credit goes 2/3 to Ireland and 1/3 to France matey. Owwwww that last bit hurt!!!

The flipped clipons looked really cool matey, keep em on.

Any chance you could post some pics of the outside of the frame with the hornet stat fitted. Um liking wot um seein matey bloke.

Cheers for the comments lads
The top hose will come over the cam cover to the rad. i aint finished it yet but will get fotos up as soon as bud.
Ive contacted SERKS MARSTON by me about doing a 1-off ally rad. Its only £70 dearer than a new after market Blade item but has that extra bling factor [8D]

Yeah, coz I went down the shed and had a look at mine after seeing what you're going to do, and the radiator for that hose has a 90 degree down turn. I was wondering how you were gonna sort that one mate. I do like that chunky braided hose you have on there now, where'd you get that from mate.

It was already on there when i got it mate. It's only overbraid with a hose finisher .
Im getting a 1 0ff rad made with straight take off , so no drama
